I think maybe Havasu 1972...didn't many of the Merc factory drivers 'flip' the new Molinari pickle-forks in testing and day 1.
And I think Bill & Fred Hauenstein touched and both 'flipped' maybe mid/late 70's.

Congratultions to Ferrari.
A milestone of longevity and competitive relevance needs to be recognized.
Even thought this site is a Retirement Thread, this weekend, Ferrari F1 race team will compete in the manufactures 1,000th race.
~~~~~
Piero Ferrari, the company’s vice-president and the son of founder Enzo Ferrari, said: "Scuderia Ferrari's 1000th Grand Prix is a very important milestone, therefore it had to be marked in a special way."That's why we decided to run a unique livery on the cars for this event, with the SF1000s taking to the track at the Mugello Circuit in the Burgundy colour first seen on the 125, the first racing car to carry the Ferrari name."Even the look of the race numbers on Charles' and Sebastian's cars will reflect the tradition of the past, giving the impression of being hand painted onto the bodywork, while the drivers' race suits will also match the car colour."
Mercedes will paint the Safety Car red in tribute to Ferrari, while Formula 2 driver Mick Schumacher, the son of seven-times world champion Michael, will also drive his father’s final world championship-winning F1 car, the F2004, in a demonstration run on Sunday ahead of the race.
This is how Johnnie Sanders drives and wins at Havasu 1972.
~~~~~
Now a resident of sky-high Denver, Johnnie works for sales and service for his papa-in-law, Mac McCune, whose MaCune Racing Team is a familiar sight at most major races. At Havasu, he raced under the banner of the Johnson Factory Team, which is the best deal they have made for some time. "The Scotti-craft is a factory boat, but I rigged it myself. It's about as stable of a boat as I have driven and it doesn't give you any false indications. I runs a lot like a Molinari and will warn you if it's on its way over. As a matter of fact, I got pretty high at Havasu, but it came down all right. In the corners it can get a little high on the sides sometime, but it usually straightens right out. In a tough marathon like Havasu or Parker, you expect to get a little loose and give yourself a scare or two. On Saturday,( Day 1at Havasu) I was mainly concerned with finishing in the same lap as the leader. That way, I would start even with him on Sunday. The water was just too rough on Saturday to let it all hang out. I was hoping for good water on Sunday and we got it.
The bad start (on Sunday) was my fault. I flooded the motor and had to crank it out. I really thought we had had it. Then, when it got going, I was half way across the lake before I remembered that I was supposed to turn right if the white flag was down(late start rule). So I lost a lap there.I decided that I had better get on it, so I ran it flat out for the next 2 hours. I didn't find out I was ahead of him (Bert Serra) until my last pit stop. After that, I cooled it a bit to conserve the motor. I guess I cooled it a bit too much because, with about 5 minutes left, he got within 15 or 20 seconds of me.They gave me a go sign from the pits and I floored it again."

New members to the Retirement Thread.
Frank and Claire Williams have left F1 racing, after the Italian Grand Prix 2020 at Monza.
The Williams F1 legacy has probably now ended.

Ok, first things first. Billy himself told me he had never flipped a tunnel boat! This was when he stayed here for the Bristol reunion! I will call him today, just to confirm . Until he tells me I was dreaming I am not taking on WILLABEE or the kid or John! There’s very few I haven’t pissed off at sometime in my life, so I’ll bite my tongue until later in the day.
Now that’s on the back burner here’s another for you, more of a personal thing.
HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU THINK I FLIPPED A TUNNEL ?

Whilst i admire the Ferrari achievements in F1 since 1950, lets not forget that COSWORTH were latecomers to the F1 scene. !968 i believe.
Nonetheless, they were the first motor to ever win 100 F1 GP’s and also the first to Reach the 150 Victories. No small effort for an independent company.
Dont forget that Ferrari were state funded and had access to unlimited funds. Even today they fly under the wing of the FIAT company and the Italian government.
Even the French with the state funded RENAULT company cant compete against that.

OK, I flipped twice LMBRC at Iver in the Torriggia in 1965.
Second time was Havasu in the Molinari in 1970.
Torriggia flip was reaching into the unknown, this was the first ever modern tunnel. Wasn’t until it flipped that I knew I had gone beyond the limit.
That was in the early days when “Pinholes” decided how far out you cranked the motor.
There were “mitigating circumstances” as to how I flipped at Havasu.
