No such luck Jim, i was at a friends place, finishing off a pair of twelve foot gates . Made em out of Teak planks. Turned out it took me a while longer than i thought.

Weird how, now i have time to write more in my book, i don't have the enthusiasm Or inclination. Im up to 85,000 words and a couple of hundred pictures, which equates to around two hundred and fifty pages of script and 25/30 pages of pics. Upshot of all this useless information is, come christmas, i should have enough for an interesting hardback , Title has yet to be decided, funny how everyone tells me what the title should be, but none of them have ever tried their hand at being an author. Turns out everyone wants to write a book. In fact, most folk are convinced they could write a blockbuster. Its just that they dont have time, or Haven’t got around to doing it yet.
No doubt about me finishing mine, its almost there, just requires “fine honing” .
What is it? well, its a novel cum semi autobiography, a bit of fact and a touch of fiction with reality being the underlying theme, in fact its simply every boat racer that ever was rolled into one. Lots of humour and heart, as there is in all of us.
There’s a lot of truth in it, which of course brings a lot of tragedy, as life always does.
Most of it revolves around me and mine and what happens during the continuation of a long life. I was fortunate enough to have made a lot of friends. I was stupid enough to disagree with most of them at one time or another. Unfortunately i have always simply told it the way it is, or at least the way i see it, which inevitably leads to disagreement with my fellow men (and women).
As you can imagine, its mostly about boat racing and the people, places and events that have played a major part in my life.
And of course at the moment i am indisposed and sat on my backside with nothing else Better to do than scribble a note to the TRICKS THREAD ON SCREAM AND FLY, (Which i do most days). or pick a row with Lasse Strom or Bill Welch ( Willabee ).
I am still of the opinion that Willabee’s HOT SINGLES is the best thread ever to grace the S+F site.
Lasse only got the numbers because he syndicated S+F with his facebook , whereas Willabee has an honest to God following of dedicated followers.
Just add up the numbers of HOT SINGLES and HOT MULTI’S. He’s head and shoulders in front of everyone, and deservedly so.

Now im really pissed off again. After paying National insurance all my working life, bear in mind, you do not have any choice in this, its compulsory. Today i was told that the iodine spray will be £20 and the greasy gauze bandages will be £10 a-time, (one a day for the next five days). Surgeries are closed, i could go to the E&A at any one of the local hospitals and it won’t cost me a red cent. but in a case of do it yourself and not clogging up hospitals ,it costs me a hundred quid or more.
Common sense is out the window again. Be a parasite , an idle old bastard sat on your aging arse doing nothing and wasting doctors time is for free. Use your initiative and think about it, you get charged ?.?.?
As my sainted mother used to say” IF ID KNOWN YOU WASNT GOING TO PAY FOR IT, I’D HAVE CHARGED YOU DOUBLE”/
You wonder why i despair. Is there any hope left for the future?.?.?.

OK here’s my gripe of the day. Was a time when my friends (and enemies) would agree or disagree with me and the rubbish i spout on a daily basis. Then, they would either write in and compliment me on my wisdom, or, tell me to take time out and travel (F.O.)
Nowadays theres a couple of gizmos called “Thanks and Likes” that you just have to click with the index, this reduces the art of conversation to zilch. Next up and coming gimmick is the AGREE AND DISAGREE.
Future generations will be born with I phone compatible Ears and swollen index fingers, large capacity thinking boxes and long beards ( designer of course). Flat arses and obese bodies due to not having to leave the comfort of the arm chair to eat or communicate.
I miss my disagreeable friends talking to me, would appreciate it if you all simply dropped me a line instead of CLICKING LIKES AND THANKS. This does include you Gene, Bill, Jim, and all the rest of you
“Clickers”.

Somebody informed me Lewis H is on for another F1 title , most Pole positions ever, first ever to reach 100 victories , course, he-cant drive worth a crap, always had the best car, ?!!! So just how did he get that far without any ability whatsoever? He passed Alonso, then Vettel, and now has the great Schumacher in his sights . Guess he must be doing something right.
Me myself dont watch F1 any more .
