We would very much like to get out to the Parham Air Museum since this is where my Dad was based during the war. It appears that driving in and around London is being discouraged so that adds more obstacles. Any info you can provide would be helpful.
Im no oracle and the Brexit situation is out of control——- EU leaders do not like anyone to leave the union——- so, easiest thing to do is put an impossible to meet situation and it’ll never happen.
Macron has lost control in France——-Merkel made the mistake of opening the doors for one and all and the people want her out !
British politicians have betrayed and hung May out to dry,
Brits have had enough of the in fighting———government was given a mandate to leave the EU——— they have failed———- after three years they want an “extension”——- Theres no extension long enough !
Now the rank and file are pissed off———- will probably demand another referendum——— will be close—— but the REMAINERS will win !
Theres no way that aNO DEAL is ever going to be——- the EU cannot afford to let that happen.

Theres a hefty price to pay for freedom———best thing is to lick the wounds and get the yoke back on.

Wild horses couldn’t get me to visit London——- thirteen stabbings in thirteen weeks ——- stay in the country and see the best of England——- best of luck in Ireland—— you never did say —north or south!

Enough ofall this——- Jesus wept—- it’s Saturday—— and time I was in bed !

You know what Jackie, you don't have to look far in any direction to see that things are dire in every country. I will leave this image with you to show that it's just a matter of time...

Well, nobody’s perfect Crisis——- I Try and stay away from politics——- corruption is rife, I can’t stand dishonesty——- but it’s all around us.
Politics—- sport——-business———cash is still king, but for how much longer is anyone’s guess.
Money is a credit card——— easier to steal from ——- harder to trace—— ?
If you’re a geek——- understand the technology—- it’s no problem to rob anyone—— banks—— business or every day country folk, no ones immune.
We call it progress———- just glad I was born when I was—— best time since Adam shacked up with Eve !
i have never once in my life wished I was somebody else———- I wouldn’t swop places with royalty—— politicians——- scientists or sportsman——- nobody has the life I have—— past and present—— I’m living the life and always have !
Lucky —— blessed—— fortunate—— I couldn’t tell you——- all I know is, I’m enjoying every minute and always have.
    Have a good day.

Back garden’s coming to life ——- daffodils nearly “Had it”——- blackthorn is nearly in full flower——- folklore has it , that it’s six weeks of “blackthorn winter”——- then it’s summer and sunshine !How true it is , I have no idea.
Heather is in bloom and usually lasts four ot five months——- but there’s always dozens of bees feeding from the flowers.
Spent the morning finishing off my new six inch grinder—— custom made—— quiet—— and powerful—— which is more than can be said for the Far Eastern crap that’s sold these days.
Was a time when Japanese and German goods were rivalling British made——— philly and Toledo steel was up with the best——— but today’s motto is “buy cheap and chuck it——- then buy another !

Sunday brunch with Lizzie——— life is never dull around this kid—— soon as she finished eating —- outside into the playhouse. This was at Pyecombe which is on high ground——— bitterly cold, but she doesn’t feel the cold.
So totally pissed off with the poor quality of my recent abrasive machines I decided to try my hand at making a decent device.
Let you know how it turns out.
Must say, I got a lot of enjoyment out of engineering ——- didn’t know if I have the skills to make it come about——- but I’ll give it a try.

You have never in all your born days seen such a table as I made for my all singing and dancing -xxxx doubt if there has ever been one produced like it——— micro adjustment—— level bubbles—- tilting table ——- the full monty!!!
Neighour came round ——- took one look and says ———— For crying out loud Jack—— its a FECKIN six inch grinder ———- not a clockwork Faberge ballerina !
Hes right of course——- all I need is a fixed table square on to the disc——— nothing else .
Ah well ———- of such dreams great worktables come about .

My family is from a small town in County Carlow just a little east of Killkenny. We plan to visit there. We are also going to do about a week or so of basic tourism around the country. We do not plan to visit Northern Ireland.

That is what kept us medics busy back in the day. I guess I could just brush up on my old Army hand to hand combat training.

Forgot the basic principles of using wood and metal———- metal is an inanimate object, a mineral and lifeless ——- whereas wood is alive and has feel ——- only dies when it’s burnt to ash.
Two of them don’t generally get on well together——— the trick is to make them work together——!
    without upsetting the Apple cart.
Thats the reason I had “Waglement” with the table———- but it’s acceptable?
Just didnt think it would take all day to sort out!
Tomorrow it’s back to fernagling concepts——- the SK boat is sitting there waiting to be done ! I’m on it——- normal service will be resumed tomorrow.

Did a five day tour of Southern Ireland a couple of years back——— loved it—— most unusual for Ireland, the temperature was up in the eighties the whole time.
Don’t particularly like Guinness———- but you have to drink it in Ireland to get the real McCoy——
liquid nectar——— you will love Ireland.
Call in and see the pet dolphin in Dingle Bay——- it’s getting on a bit now—— but performs like a veteran.

Thanks for the info. I am fortunate that my cousin and lifelong best friend was a travel professional. He has been to Ireland several times so it wont be his first rodeo there. He and his wife will be handling the travel and lodging leaving only car rental for me. If we can figure out a good way to make a stop in England I would still like to get out to Dad's wartime base. Not many of us are lucky enough to be able to visit the places where our dads fought that war. Especially the air war.

Petworth is a sleepy old English town——- narrow streets and one way systems—— Parham house is one of the “GRAND HOUSES” of England————has one of oldest gliding clubs and a great fish and chip shop. Twenty minutes from my house in the heart of West Sussex.
My Dad was flight engineer on Halifax bombers———— made 36 drops over Germany and lived until he was ninety.Click image for larger version.

Also has more antique dealers and shops than any other town in England!
Think it’s 80% of the total number of shops are “ANTIQUE SHOPS”
When a dealer has an antique mahogany table worth five thousand quid——- except for the worm infested leg——— I could be forgiven for charging mum a hundred quid for a new leg——— because the damned thing isn’t worth a flying fart with only three good legs.

I urge you to if at all possible to pay a visit to your Dad's old field..because of rising land values a lot of them are disappearing under the plough or being built on. If and hopefully when you do visit try to converse with some older folk living locally.. they are a fund of stories and will be so pleased that you took the time and trouble to come their little part of England. The wartime AAF played a big part in their lives!

Bjorn came today——— needed some bits fernagled for his vintage Moto Guzzi——-arrived on his fancy Beemer.
Damned if I know what bikes are coming to———- so silent that if ever one knocked you ever#———you’d never know what hit you.
