The 225 horsepower 289 would be the four-barrel. The 271 horsepower 289 was the Hi-Po. Had the same car. One of my favorites. Always smacked my head on the top of the door opening getting in. Weird. Also had a 64 1/2 Wimbleton White 225 289 "slowback". A 68 big block GT 4-speed. And a 70 Cleveland stick SportRoof stang. And a few others. They call those wheels the "Rally Wheels" Gene... Had the Magnum 500 wheels w/raised white letter GoodYear Polyglass GT's on the 70.

Wet, wild and windy this morning——- we got our normal English summer back !
Forecast is for high winds and steady rain all day today——— Temperatures in the high seventies——- welcome respite from the hundred degrees we’ve had over the last eight weeks!
Britain looks like the Mojave Desert, Brown with no grass left anywhere !
Thats a stonking Mustang Of Gene Langhams——— bet it’s not done all that many miles either ? 1966 Stang In damn near perfect condition———— Don’t suppose you happen to have a ‘66 Triumph Thunderbird—— or a pre war HD tucked under the wing of the Malibu by any chance ? You can give an old fart a heart attack———- or palpitations at the very least ——- coming out with little surprises like that !
You got any original snapshots of Rita Hayworth—-Jane Russell—— Ava Gardner—-Marilyn? Or the Beatles that you forgot to mention?
Stuff you and I took for granted at the time Gene, now have astronomical price tags——— the world has gone completely DOO LALLY TAT. !

Forecast was spot on——- it’s never stopped raining all day——
Indy does not like water——- she hates the rain——- walks around puddles, sulks when you make her walk out in it———- I ask you—— a bloody labrador that doesn’t like water——— it’s like a Frenchmen not liking garlic.

Never had one of those——- Had a Gorden Keeble for a while——- Allard—and a Lagonda. Also had a Three wheeler JAP Morgan.
When I bought “ Brooklands Farm “ in Shipley, West Sussex. There were a number of single seater race cars housed in the twenty odd garages that came with it. Among them was a Cooper Lotus and a Reynard——- various Mercs littered one of the four yards.
One of the previous owners of the farm was F.S.EDGE, he was a well known pre war race car driver!
I bought Southwater Garage from a man called Bill Short who was Bentley Race team manager just before the war.
When I moved in, there was a Birkin Bentley complete with blower under a dust sheet——— had a hell of a job getting the owner to pick it up .
A man called John Goddard called in to the garage asking the whereabouts of Bill Short——— he was just about to leave on a gold prospecting trip to Australia——— he was driving a D TYPE JAGUAR, which he wanted to swop for a Land Rover?
Yeah—— I know——— if only ?????

Back in 1987 after selling off all my boating toys, I bought the three cars that I always admired in earlier years, but could not afford. I called them "my three sons." They were featured in Hemmings Motor New in, I think, June or July of 1988. Match the year to the car.....

Bob —— it will take someone with a lot more knowledge of American Machinery than me to get that right—— but five will get you ten that someone in the old farts section will get it right. My money’s on Rich Luhrs.

De Tomaso Pantera, Shelby GT 500, Pontiac TransAm

I would say the Shelby is the ‘70.

    The Trans Am 71.

    Pantera 73.
