Done the winch and jockey wheel-------spare wheel-------number plate and lights------- can't decide whether or not to stitch a motor to its bum---------I can always tell when a concepts coming together------I usually get sick to my tits with the damned thing!
Got on well with the four pointer-----had a full six hours in the shop------- did the floats in hardwood and aluminium--------mistake-------tried to use that damned gorilla glue-------didn't work-------poxy stuff let go, just as I was fixing the wing section to the fuselage-------- course the point hit the concrete and blunted its nose a tad,
Stevie, James and Gary doing big celebrations down Duval tonight-------world champions I understand, will get to speak with Mark in a little while--------he should be heading up the road back home any time soon.

Looked back at some of the footage from Key West------it really is not compulsive viewing.
Silly accidents that will surely need answers.
Four boat final race. Race times make for some dismal reading.
!"CAT KILLER" from a decade ago would have given the best of the tunnels a run for the money ------
a "WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP "-------with four boats--------that's embarrassing !
Wonder if anyone will build a genuine 200 mph boat that stays together any time soon ?
Still no sign of a canopy or capsule designed to save lives-------not just to meet the regulations.
Well, I've had my weekly moan------ I'm just a silly old fart that doesn't know when to shut up.

Put the wing on the four pointer, ( will post a progress picture later today ) just needs a motor and it's suddenly all coming together.
Gave myself a monumental task trying to do a facsimile of othe outrageous hydro ----come WW speed record craft--------realise this is just an artists impression-------- totally impractical ---------would never work in a month of sundays, but I'm not one to piss on dreams-------or am I ?
Again, I'll post a piccie if I feel I'm getting anywhere.
Bloody cold in the shop at 8:00 am this morning------ must be getting soft in my dotage years-------watch out Gene, I'm charging after you.
The one in charge of everything has a yen for another Lexus-------the one we have had for six years is beginning to show her age at 110,000 miles, ------was offered a very nice, low mileage 350 hybrid with just 24,000 miles on the clock! Trouble is, it's a 2010 model --------bloody thing is over seven years old already, they're asking £20,000 which is far too much money and got my shackles rising . Couldn't stand it any longer------walked out of the showroom which obviously cost more than Buckingham Palace to construct, but not before I made them a once only, and final offer of £18,000.
Should have smelled a rat when the receptionist with the nice legs brought a cup of reall good coffee---- no such thing as a free cup of good coffee in a Lexus dealers showroom.
Salesman was an Irishman from county Donegal-------he was on the answerphone by 9:00 am-----left a long message which I didn't reply to as he did not accept my one and only offer. Plenty of better deals out there !

    Three drivers killed

    Half dozen boats destroyed

And no one ventured even three miles Offshore?

Be careful Gene, your treading in tetchy territory.
You are absolutely right of coarse, but who listens to the “ Real” offshore racers of yesterday any more ?
Key west is a spectacle——- no doubt about that, but somewhere along the way——- offshore racing has lost its identity.
Rules and regulation have caused many would be “offshore racers “ to buy a million dollar rig and go POKER RUNNING. unfortunately there are no rules for these boats———- don’t get me wrong, I’m not advocating rules for pleasure boating, but hundreds of the poker run boats I’ve seen are lethal weapons running loose———— in the wrong hands they could do a lot of damage !
It really is time somebody somewhere designed a safety cell that’s a step forward !——— they managed to stop F1 car drivers being killed in large numbers —————- no reason it can’t be done in boats——— but what do I know, I’m just one of the old farts who dribbles.

Frustrating day in the shop————beavered away with the record boat———-realised it was going nowhere, come lunchtime, I binned it and started again.
Lost a day and a half, but it beats booze, sex and binging, begging and daytime tv, and cheap hookers (so I’m told)
Took a progress piccie on my iPhone, which is supposed to be linked to my iPad, that was six hours ago,———mustn’t be up to cyber speed today———— either that or the iPhones having a mad fit of depression , no sign of the piccie .
    Hope to eat bear tomorrow!
Bloody Thursday again——-off to the car boot sale ———- haven’t been for a while as it was chucking it down!
Another two weeks and I can apply for my driving licence back again. Just hope I don’t fall apart at the seams, Everything aches, and joints sound like percussion instruments in an orchestra tuning up.
Whoever said it must be fun growing old was either eighteen———an Olympic athlete———or a raving lunatic!

I said what I mean, pleasure boats can have any size engines and can go any speed with zero rules.
    Race boats have rules
I bet there are more fast pleasure cats out there than race cats and plenty can also go faster

PS, I like the one where Foster was the drunk pilot

of course there are rules———- there has to be———-but there’s no rule that says you cannot walk into anyboat show, anywhere in the USA and buy your 16 year old grandson a150 mph tunnel, then send him out on the inter coastal to play boats.
Somewhere along the way, we got lost, disillusioned, frustrated with the rule makers, I sure as hell don’t know the reason————-but there has to be one,———- I see maybe 100 race boats down at Key West. But there are always hundreds of poker run boats . But only four or five Superboats for each race, which is invariably down to just two or three come the finish ?
My favourite is the brain surgeon ,
