Well, I found a dozen billets that I can cobble a couple of "Rudes" out of. Not much else, nothing exciting.
As always happens when I get towards the end of a "Concept" I can see exactly what I should have done------so I spent the last couple of hours cutting out Snapper2, using the last of my cherry wood, hard as bloody nails, but if I can get JOHN Schubert involved in the finishing it could turn out to be a beautiful boat.
Send you a couple of pickies close of play today-----need to build a storage shed, or call it a day, tearing the carpet up came at a cost, everything hurts, chest, arms, legs, back. This time I'm going to retire and watch porny films. Eat chocolate and donuts, join the rest of the overweight and obese fat bastards that frequent our cities

I'm not an ardent boxing fan, but I've watched Joshua since he won gold at the olympics and always thought he would make a fine world champion----------he did it in spades !
Was one of the all time great fights, even Ali would have approved of that one. It's a bit early yet to be calling him "Great"--------19 wins in a row don't quite make him a "Legend", but its a bloody good start!
Rich's friends are giving him a hard time-------that's one of the reasons I try not to use FACEBOOK-------I don't like stepping into my own mouth, S&F suits me just fine, old timers don't hit quite as hard, should I step out of line, not that I ever would. Anyway, I'm not eloquent enough to run for senator.
It still hasn't warmed up any yet, shan't be doffing any clobber in the near future, not until it's ten degrees warmer. Takes paint forever to dry at these sort of temperatures.
Full day in the shop again today, nobody scheduled to visit, no timetable to stick to, ill just nip round to the paper shop, pick up the "SUNDAY TELEGRAPH "--------breakfast and the general knowledge crossword ------we do live the life don't we ?

Jackie I highly recommend you get some soft rubber mats to stand on as you can shake them out when dirty. I can't work on concrete floors without them. Gary

Good idea Gary, I had mats in my old workshop-------take em up and hang em on the fence while I swept out the shop.
Been beavering away at snapper two--------put a lot of things right on this one------really should try hard and make a decent facsimile of the Rudes--------it's like trying to smile while you swallow bile.
    Somethings come easy------Rudes don't, unfortunately !
Must be close to summer------we had PIMMS at lunchtime--------far better sign than the one swallow ?

Well Pilgrim-------I thought about it-------came to the conclusion that if OMC chucked all that money at it and Bedford Davies sponsored Garbrecht all the way-------SOMETHING had to come out of it, though it fell far short of the 200 mph that was being talked about---------wasn't really much quicker than the near 150 mph that the V 8's were supposedly lapping at was it?
wasnt the official explanation the team were suffering "PROPSLIP" ------isn't that what used to be known as CAVITATION.?

Yes I agree, I heard it went a lot faster than the record but they were doing it in a river with current and its the average for that record

Tell me Pilgrim-------have you ever heard of any record attempt that didn't have an "If only" or an excuse of some sort ?
Exception to that is WARBY ! His mother put him on the right track when she told him to chop 18" off the rudder !
Even Spielberg couldn't make that up could he ?

Absolute state of the art computerised technology-------I heard it straight from the horses mouth, on at least five occasions.
First time was about a month after he broke the WWSR, he came to England and Roz Knott was carting him around on a "whistle stop".
I had a stand at the Brighton Boat Show, in walked Roz with this fat kid and asked me what my thoughts were on the guy in Australia who had just broken the WWSR by the odd 20 miles an hour or so. I just said------he's mad as a hatter------a fruit and nut case-----must have a bolt loose------that's when she said--------------Jackie, let me introduce you to KEN WARBY , !!!!
We spent over an hour talking together about the record run, and his ma telling him to chop the tiller in half. That was the first time-------but most of the old farts have heard the tale many times.

If they can make a film about "THE WORLDS FASTEST INDIAN" then it's not beyond possibility that they will make, say, "THE WORLDS FASTEST ABORIGINAL "
Well, I know for a fact he's an "ORIGINAL"

Nice story but it was Professor Fink that advised cutting the rudder I think. Since when do we listen to our mothers?

Honest to murgatroyd and on a stack of playboys, I swear that's the story WARBY puts around.
When he tells the tale of collecting his gong at Buckingham palace, he refers to HRH. PRINCE PHILLIP as
    PHILL THE GREEK .
Without a doubt WARBY is scared sh-tless of his mum---------she speaks, he listens !
To be honest, I never even heard of professor Fink ?

Appears Ron Hill don't frequent S &F but can be reached via BRF-------well, we got a bit of an impasse here, even though I remembered my password for the site, it won't let me post pictures
Hey JOHN Schubert, you may have to be the go between-------if and when I finish the HALLETT------you want to give it some of your detailing skills?
Ill send you some pickies of just how far on the concept has travelled-------the pair of "Rudes" with stubby mid sections and super duper dogs cajony gear-cases took me a whole lot longer than they should have.
Bet you never seen rudes like these------tell me if you think they're fours or sixes, --------someone asked me yesterday, told em, "hells teeth, I don't know, I just make the damn things".

Decided I'm heading towards retirement gently, was told by her who shall be obeyed at all times to cut down on the hours------five hours a day max. with the shop closed Saturday and Sunday.
After the carpet lifting fiasco, I'm giving up on the physical side , bloody chest, back, thighs and unmentionable place aches told me to knock it off!
Paying somebody else to lift the rest. No doubt about it, shop floor is easier to keep clean and tidy without the Axminster.
Big commission seems to be dead in the water, made a bunch of concepts for them to choose from, but was a total waste of time------communications dried up a while back, so if you hear of anyone wanting about ten heavyweight "Concepts" for very little dinero, call me.
Temperatures creeping up little by little, still get frost in the mornings and the winds still bitterly cold, won't be getting sunburnt any time soon. Have a nice day !
