That's a whole story in pictures Fuji -----many thanks indeed-------Detroit has a fantastic history but doesn't seem to move on like the rest of the USA ---------Auto centre of the world, music city, and then oblivion------sad case of folks not being able to live and work together, but that's only my view, I could be a million miles from what actually happened.
Last I heard, the city was bankrupt and the auto industry there was in rapid decline------no doubt somebody will put me straight.

Bob, the thing that amazes me most of all---------at 8am Thursday morning, I come across a mystery outboard,! at a car boot sale in Ford, West Sussex, England. Lunchtime I post a piccy on S&F----------by 5-30pm, I know exactly which company made it---------how much it cost---------if I had looked for a serial number, I have no doubt we could find out what day it was made AND the guys who made it.
It really is a wonderful world we live in---------and so bloody tiny!
Many thanks to all the people who took the time and trouble to chase down this little piece of boating history!
Two or three years ago I bought a couple of coffin like trunks---------they weighed in at twenty lbs apiece---------one I sent to Tavares last year with all the golfing trophies, the other one I still had down in the shed. So, I filled it up with as many trophies I could cram into it---------You ain't never gonna believe this---------- it topped the scales at just over 150 lbs, ------cost to Florida is £200+_______ I have to sleep on this, although I managed to get most of the "Menagerie" in to the coffin, I'm beginning to wonder if I'm not flooding the market?

No my friend, as my sainted mother used to say------you've made your bed, now lie in it.
I shot my mouth off all over the hog market, making concepts on a production line basis and not caring a fig about the weight or shipping costs--------got my head down and arse up and I was away with the fairies! It's a bit like buying an airplane on a tiny island--------or a boat and no water!
Time to bite the bullet and pay the ferryman.
This way, I can at least get most of the concepts in the other two suitcases and a change of socks.
Just hope the old farts at the auction will be well hammered and feeling benevolent -----in a festive and generous mood--------after all-----Christmas is coming and the goose is going to get fat, l hope.
Will call the carrier this morning and get them to collect the coffin-------I'll bet the poor sod who picks it up will have backache for a while------or a hernia----- 150 lbs takes a bit of "HOIKING"

I am normally-------easy going and content with my lot, a very contented soul who doesn't ever ask for more than I deserve.
As most of you know I resided in France-----French France, that place between Italy and Spain for some eleven years.
During that time I learned about the S&F site and wrote some 1550 posts under my own name-----jackiewilson. I returned to the UK in 2011 and resumed my relationship with the aforementioned S&F. So, what can possibly go wrong ?
Well, for a start------how can I possibly be THE Jackie wilson who used to live in French France ?
Impossible------you have to start from scratch, so I did-------tried for five years to get the administrator Greg to realise we is one and the same------French France Jackie wilson and English England Jackie wilson------now how difficult can that be to add 1555 to 3406? Even a simple soul like myself could do that---------surely it is not beyond the wit of Greg T. To rectify this small yet significant wrong to rights-----------I rest my case

Just gone 1400 hours Friday afternoon --------UPS just collected the coffin, Dennis was the driver, who was wise enough to have brought a docker size pair of wheels!
The quote was one day plus customs--------last parcel I sent to Roger H. Was there in under 24 hours.
Had forgotten all about the last years efforts Rich, can't remember if I ever did you a "replica" trophy or not, or was it a "recipients award. Anyway I'm sure I can find something down in the shed that will suffice. I now have stacks of space for all the other bits and bobs in my two suitcases.
The Boyd Boid and Gene's bird , and shadowcats "REDBIRD" are now winging their way south, O'Dells Mona is in my suitcase along with a couple of Seebolds and various other "Concepts"-------- that's it for this year, nothing else planned, unless somebody utters the immortal words---------think you could knock up .??????? For me.
weather has turned crappy, started raining lunchtime and got steadily worse-------little Lizzie is back home-----the kitchen goddess is knocking three sheets out of a shoulder of lamb ready for entertaining our next door neighbors to dinner tonight (Steve and Julia).
Managed to cram a month into a week so I'm all shipshape and Bristol fashion, ready for the OFF with five days spare.
Who says boat racers leave everything to the last minute
Now you all do what Rich says and bring your wallets---------there's a hell of a lot to choose from, I promise you won't be disappointed. Safe journey to each and every one of you, see you in Tavares.J.

Sometime me last year during one of my mad fits of depression I knocked up three versions of the "Tower" at lake X-------nobody even commented on them so they kinda got kicked to the back of the garden shed and forgotten--------figured they weren't much "Copp", I even stuck a wing on top, but there still wasn't a glimmer of interest---------upshot of all this is-------there's a miniature wing that would make a nice recipients trophy if you're interested?
Uncovered half a dozen wings, ------a 700 and a 7000------a Diablo 3------a couple of solid woods and a pair of wood and stainless. If we run out of trophies for next year I can always pack em up, send em , and hope!
Still chucking it down------seems like "light years" since the Indian summer------be nice to hit Florida next week in a pair of shorts.

The car boot sale at ford is on two days a week, Thursday and Saturday-----so I thought I would have a look and see if the "Detroit" was still there. It was, it turned over freely, but the fuel pipe was perished beyond a reasonable doubt. Plug lead was in a similar condition!
Asked the seller if he had ever had it running, was an emphatic no, on closer inspection, in my opinion, it hasn't been fired up since before World War Two .
Asked him what he would take for it at the death------the way you do--------he said £600, Come on sunshine, it was priced at £200 two days ago------------ah, but that was then !,,,,, -----I sadly shook my head and walked away--------they are amongst us!

Now her who sleeps next to me decided in her wisdom, it might be nice if she could book me a ride in an extended golf cart from the landing gate at Fort Lauderdale to the passport and border control------emphatic NO, but you can have a wheel chair.
After half an hours discussion it became clear that there are just two kinds of passengers-------fit and healthy------and cripples. They do not cater for those that can't stride the five miles from landing to luggage collection.
Why make it easy for passengers when you can make it so bloody difficult without really trying------all I wanted was a ride in a golf cart at the end of a long journey-----------would have been easier to jump on the shuttle to Mars.
Its going to be one of those weekends, I can feel it in my water!
