The series wanted a eco friendly engine. Had nothing to do with money. They have plenty of that.

The verados including the 400 meet all 3 star emissions. Over in Europe the Optimax which is only 2star does not meet their requirements.

The 400r and 400ros are the same powerheads.

do you have a link to that on Merc's web page, I can only find where they say Verado to 300 are 2 star rated?

They custom make them for the boat from billet aluminum. I think victory team makes them for the x cats. Paragon performance manufacture such manual jack plates in the us. More information through Smart Marine Service on facebook
