Tricks that old racers get up to after retirement

With a strong will, a downhill slope,and a tail wind, should have the first "CONCEPT TOWER" up and running sometime Monday------it's been buzzing around in my brain like an angry hornet. ,

You know when you get an itch, you just have to do something about it, that damned rusty old tower meant so much to a lot of the old farts I went back into the shop and started fiddle farting.

Problem is-----I took my camera up to Chris and Alli's place to show you how the Norton and the Triumph are looking--------left the damn thing up there. .?
Made a positive start, see what I can pick up at the scrap yard in the morning, don't worry Stavros, I'm on it.

Another week gone by, would like to think the winters over as its March next week !

See what turns up at the scrapyard this morning, won't be in there long today, all I need is some thin round bar for the railings but I haven't any idea. How I'll tackle the stairs. Have a couple of ideas to try out on the Windows . Seem to remember an old broken clear plastic IKEA chair out back that may prove useful------
Will dig out the hole cutters and hope they're sharp enough, plastic has a habit of grabbing when you use metal cutting hole cutters.
Ah well, nothing ventured, time to go hunting!

Making valiant progress !
Those patented pain in the arse convex circular peep holes are a problem, but as it's a "Concept" I think I can get away with it.
Might give you a sneaky foggie later.

Got the three platforms fernagled, fencing round em is fiddly, clever bit will be cobbling and polishing, staircase and mounting it to look presentable.
Already have a notion or two that would save time and look better for the next one, hindsight is a wonderful thing---------so is closing the feckin gate after the nag buggered off.

Shut the shop around three, thought I might watch the six nations Rugby for the afternoon . Results were pretty much as predicted, England made heavy weather of beating a much depleted Ireland squad.
France were never in the picture against Wales, was a very one sided match.
Scotland were flattered by the score against Italy, if the Italians had a little more discipline , the result could have been very different.

Big event here is -----Do We------or don't we, stay in the EU. It's 50/50 at the moment, I'll vote one way or another, but at the moment I have an open mind, will probably be the day of the election before I make up my mind.
The whole thing is ONLY about IMMIGRATION , we must have control over our borders, and it must be us that makes the decision , not some pen pushers in Brussels .

Did the tower in one piece and then drilled out the windows-------now all I have to do is cut it into three sections and start assembling.
When I see the wonderful work that these model engineers are capable of, I feel humbled, then I take a step back and think------hells teeth Jack, just do what you want to do, as well as you can, it's not my living, I don't have to do it, I just love doing it and sometimes surprising my friends and just occasionally myself !
Camera comes back today so we can have some fun piccies, got a real mixed bag of phoggies this time. Watch out for em around midday GMT.

if I ever do a smaller one, I could use big glass marbles-------paper weights tend to have snow scenes, Angels, nuns or nudes.
Suppose Mr. K. Would not just turn, in his grave------he would positively spin.

The date foir the Fall Thunder/OFF event has been changed to avoid conflict with Key West. It is now one week later running from November 17th to 20th 2016.
This gives you plenty of time to rearrange your travel plans...... and eliminates the biggest excuse for missing the party.

So some semblance of common sense can still be found-------thank God for that-----I can enjoy both. Get some time with my family, maybe get a fishing trip with Sog and Shrimp Serra ,get the golf tourney organised, enjoy the time in Tavares.
