Everyone has seen the drop on ModVP cowls... How about a clamshell? I've only ever seen one other pair.
The motor under this is an interesting creature too.

closer look at the decals, they're all one piece and printed on an aluminum textured backing.

Seems like after beating the piss out of them on the racecourse Merc quickly realized that clamshell cowlings suck in rough water, especially the ones with the 2.4 clicker type latches.
