Vision Boats dominated towards the end of Mod-VP.

I still have that picture Bobby from when you sent it to me way back when.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

That's really cool Bobby, I grew up at Marine Creek, Dad and Billy put on races there for years. I was out there this mornin, it's changed a little, it's a "no wake lake" now, just a bunch of guys out there idling around in bass boats.

That was fast back then, I remember when they broke 100mph.That was an accomplishment.Always liked gong to Augusta to see the big boys run.Too bad the green motor racing didn't take off.I guess the speeds were not competitive enough with a 150.
Thanks to all that posted. It brought back memories when the bug bit me in 1980

did you run any of the Texas Twister events that they put on Bobby? the funny thing is that they call it a no wake lake, but they allow a wakeboard and ski club to use one of the coves on weekends for events. The Water District would allow racing if an event was to be planned and put together there, for some reason it just hasn't been done in recent years. I'm sure the SDBA having their event there in the middle of August when it's 110* and there is NO shade may have had something to do with it.... not to mention the 1.4 mile walk across the dam from the parking area to the spectator area.

Last Allison I had was in the mid 80s,then went to go fast center consoles. Anyway, came across a V21 last year as a project. Restored it like an old Mod VP boat. It's been fun to run!

I have videos of some of the old races there, I'll have to check them and see if you're in there! They are on youtube also.
