Thanks Gary, much appreciated, Murphy always thought she was a dog and would answer immediately to my whistle! Jilly's posted pictures and notices all over the hog market.

MURPHYS BACK .... I'd give her a kick up the backside if I wasn't so happy to see her alive and well with no after effects or injuries. Five days she's been missing, first time in five years she's ever spent a night away.
Many thanks for all your good wishes, much appreciated.

always seem to concentrate that much better in the shop if I'm worried or concerned about something. Had a bee in my bonnet. About cobbling a really nice outboard engine, I started it today and it's looking good-----now I have to decide what boat to construct to put it on--------should it be the goat boat with the Rotory, a big Molinari with a V8 -----A Seebold with a T4 ----?
Have a lot on my mind at the minute and Murph going missing didn't help, along with a useless mitt so I feel I've stood up to the plate and pulled my weight in spades.
Finished another sailboat this morning, gradually clearing up all the half finished projects. Finally got all the golf trophies away along with all the promised models for various old farts.

Thanks again Gary,I have at least one friend who likes some of my stuff! I don't pretend to be an artist, I just cobble together whatever comes to mind------reach out into the wood pile with one hand and delve into the metal bin with the other, twist and turn the various parts until something happens.
Must confess boats of any description seem to be in favour at the moment.
Found a new metal recycling plant that has so much incredible metal of varying shapes and sizes that I will never run out of things to do.
May send you a couple of pics of Murphy now she's safely ensconced back home and show you what The new outboard motor looks like.
Went to sleep looking through the net for piccies of big outboards, ie: Rotory, V8/s, T4/s, then looked for piccies of suitable craft to use?
Found a Leecraft that claims to be the first full canopy , posted by Tim Thipedeax which I would dispute long and loud! Was Tim who got me started on the S&F site so I try not to argue with him, plus I have known his mum and dad for many years.
Have a great affection for Seebolds ----I may lean in that direction----see what transpires today.
Forecast is for sunshine but at the minute it's chucking it down.

I got boats coming outa my ears, sail boats, race boats, twins and singles, wings and tunnels, you name it, I got one or two or six?
Murphy at the trough tonight, she seems like nothing happened, denies ever being away for five days and nights. When I get time I'll sort her out once and for all!
Collected a ton more of stainless and alloy to play games with, sorted out all my old scrap metal boxes ready for weighing it in, must have half a cwt, worth about $100, even as scrap.

Didn'even manage to get the gear case done for the new motor! Mitt has calmed down a little, fingers no longer look like pork sausages, pain has subsided to almost zero, from tomorrow on I should be back to normal whatever that's supposed to be!

Last day of the Goodwood revival and the Isle of Wight festival tomorrow-----got bad news for all concerned----it's going to piss down all day, sorry 'bout your bad look folks. Really has been a piss poor summer!

S&F not allowing me to post pictures today for some reason. Weather held up, Sky been full of Spits for the last day of the Goodwood revival, they sold an old Ferrari for over a million pounds yesterday. Some folk have a lot more money than me.
finished the beast of an outboard, shades of what might have been if only Mercury and OMC had merged and thwarted the Nips, wonder if outboards as we know them would be any different today.

A few more piccies of "THE BEAST", hacked out of a solid billet of aluminium----picked the base up at the "recycling facility"------just a posh name for a scrap yard !
Must be ok, both Mark and Gary didn't believe I made it, they both asked me WHO IS THAT FOR?, but they never asked the vital Q, how much?
Will start searching for a suitable piece of timber to cobble a hull to suit the lump .
Mind is open and blank at the minute, I'll just put the spokeshave to the hardwood and see what the outcome looks like!
Have a mind to do an all metal boat, it worked ok with the motor, maybe it would turn out ok on the hull.

We have the arse end of hurricane Henri due to hit our shores next week, why not, give us a perfect end for one of the most miserable apologies of a summer I can remember!
