Are they valuable ???? Well, let me say that the toy motor today is worth way more than the real original Merc 800 cost new back in 1960. That Merc 800 toy motor is one of the hottest items for toy collectors. I have posted a listing below. You will wish you had spent all your money buying them all. If we only knew...

that particular painting has graced the inside of a tea chest eithe in a Eller or a shed for the last 25 years--------don't ask me why?
Used to have a massive custom made trophy cabinet with over 300 trophies in it, made by Hodges, Left it in the cellar at Avignon 12 years ago,
Had a huge painting of the first lap at Bristol with all the top boats on it, left it hanging in the hall at Brooklands Farm------have no idea what happened to it.
If I sell you this Phill, it would only piss off my kids, I may want to live with them when I grow old!

Glass is smashed and the frame broken, may have to take it apart and construct a new frame, could hang it in the shop then.

Hamilton did the biz blitzing pole by a goodly margin, see if he can keep up the good work in the race proper.

England beat the Scots to take the Calcutta Cup, all they have to do next week is thrash the frogs at the Stade De Franciase in Paris.

Managed a full day on the Wings, made inroads-----Tried to make the gear case too small, failed miserably-----did the next one half as big again and it looks good------not great, but passable.

Put the first coat of black on all six of the outboards and hung ' em out to dry, same again tomorrow.

Half day tomorrow------Sunday lunch at the Hilton hotel right here in the village, tell you tomorrow what the foods like.

Jackie...I didn't know that, what chariots did she pull up in back in those days?....She always had an eye for wheels I remember seeing a snap of her draped across the bonnet (hood) of a Facel-Vega, all sensuous curves and equisite detail.....she looked good too!!

Blondes and cars eh!..many a mans downfall..

Yup, she lived in a bloody great old English farmhouse called "PALMERS" and drove around in a drop head convertible CADDILAC in White.
Lived there with her husband Alan Lake!

Made up for it this morning, was out there well before 8am-------the tools were hot and begging forgiveness by 9 .
When I really get stuck in and the shavins are all over, it usually means I got 2or3 projects on the go at once--------which means before they get finished there's a lot of loose ends and a number of items that need a finishing touch.
One such item was the R/R TRAILOR, I had that totally dismantled, a lot of things on it were "Temporary ", like the towbar------done a a new stainless one, finished the wheels, narrowed the stollage so the new wing fits it about right.
Then made a pair of cockpits for the wing out of dark mahogany---contrast--looks kinda neat.
Then I had one of my mad fits of depression-----thought I might try for a couple of " concept" outboards to stitch on the rear end.
Thats when the trouble started------do I do an inline six or a fat Vee 6?.
I have four of each on the go at the minute, now why would I do that?-----answers simple, at the moment, I don't know which will look best on the finished item, so that takes care of four of them.
Then I always manage to screw at least one of 'em completely-----so as an insurance I got enough all cut out and ready------just in case.
Wing has come together nicely, lots of colour and character-----had half a dozen coats of beeswax and is really tactile. You do not get that with epoxy or yacht varnish.
By the end of this week I should be ready for the final assembly, depending on how I get on cobbling the outboards together, will probably lay awake half the night trying to figure it all out!

That's your lot for today, the sand man beckons, MYGGWY. J.
Geez Jackie, a couple of Evinrude V-4's like what Scotti won Havasu with in 1969 would look great. BTW Mike Mullins is allowing me to take that rig to the Tavares race boat regatta next week end.

I said it before and I'll say it ------today we ate bear, Avisford Park Hilton is THE place to eat, nine out of ten! Last time I had a meal to equal that was in Macao in 2001.
They were doing a Mother's Day speciAl for $35 a head, certainly the best place to eat in this neck of the woods, better than GOODWOOD

Missed the Aussie GP but it was a bit of a procession by all accounts, things never change, if you got the right designer and the right engine at the right time, you got a world champion.

Had three good hours in the shop got another coat of black on the six motors, finished another gear case and cut out a piece of spalted beech for the other motor for Rogers big wing. If he wants them black he's going to have to do it himself.

Momma and papas day tomorrow ( Monday, mondays)

    Bugs bite, MYGGWY,J.
