.Was awoken by her who sleeps next to me with a kiss with feeling, a cup of tea and a box of Thorntons Chocolates accompanied by a huge red Valentines card with silver ribbons !!!
Oh sh-t I forgot it again was my second thought after I thanked her profusely, everything happened a bit sudden like around here this weekend, what with the arrival of another grand daughter----Friday the 13th and Valentine's Day, ------my own daughter hospitalised----and I never did get any medals for remembering birthdays, anniversaries, christmas presents-- etc, -----just had a good line in "humble pie" and apologies .
Anyway Jilly has a grand daughter-----7lbs plus? Born brighton hospital Friday 13th, name ? Duh?

Once went to Bills house, the one with water outside the back door, PRUETT took me there, first time I met Vida-----she pulled out a video of Popeye, race started, all the boats left except Popeye,
it was going down stream with its nose reaching to heaven at about 3 nots, NOT ON PLANE, NOT AT RACE SPEED, NOT NICE, Vida was in the chopper with the camera-------I think if I remember right, it took him twenty minutes to get the boat laid down, TIS said that this was where "MEAT LOAF" got his idea for BAT OUT OF HELL from, That result is now down in the annals of boat racing folklore ,
i couldn't tell you which race it was, but it was awesome! What a man.
Pretty sure Rich or willabee could tell you where it was at.

Back on line with 39.37 mega gigabytes whatever the hell that means, fairly sure Kirk & Spock never had that sort of facility, all I gotta do is learn how to use it, that's me done for the day, night all-------MYGGWY.J

Jackie & Fun gotta straighten this out. Jackie is talking about my brother, Bill Sirois

My response to Fun was about Bill Warner, founder of ConCours de Elegance.

Arab Muslim jumps into a London black taxi, he shouts at the driver to turn off the radio as there was no infidel music in the early days of his religion.
Cabbie walks to the passenger door and opens it,
Arab Muslim yells at him what do you think you're doing.?
Cabbie says to him in the early days of your religion there were no taxi cabs either, so get out , piss off and hail a camel.

Dont you just love London cabbies?

You might be interested in the number 26 boat-----the lump on the back is a two liter 6 pot " CARNITI ", the jockey is Angelo Vassena.
Probably the last picture ever taken of the motor------moments later the bolts let go and it dropped into the .Sienne.

Went to one of our favourite eating houses for Sunday lunch "THE HALF MOON AT WARNINGLID " with two of our greatest friends, Nigel a Pauline Warnes-----he built the "SHARD" ,London Bridge station, and the American Air Force Museum at Duxford
We had roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, nine and half out of ten, quaffed with a pint of "Harvey's old
Sat here in BrightonHospital with the new kid-----Elizabeth Lucy.

As far as I know, Athos, Porthos, Aramis and D'Artagnon were still dredging the Sienne some 45 years on-------you gotta admire the tenacity of those Damned elusive Musketeers Pilgrim !

Got to talking to one of my son in laws , Little Jeff, he was Marks mecknick for many years.
We got to talking about how great the racing was when everyone could afford it.
His particular favourite was the SE class-----850 cc, by far the most popular class in racing history, certainly the most competitive, and the tunnels were beautiful boats. It was run to a strict formula, in international events there were qualifying heats to determine the finalists. Sponsors would chuck in a few hundred quid and be happy at the value for money they were getting. Speeds were around 90 mph, not far short of the two liter speeds, everybody loved to watch them, exciting and not too dangerous-----wonder what killed em off?

Lasse would be the man for all that
I think SE became F3 when OMC made the 31M and Cees ran it in Europe ( was also running in OZ and Kiwi and still is)

Nope, not true Pilgrim, 'Twas CHARLIE Sheppard who ran Bristol that coined " Formula one, two, three and four," to make life simple for the public to understand the classes.
Formula 1 had a maximum of 2 liters and was run for years before OMC worked a deal with the UIM and the eastern bloc countries to claim F1.

Anything up to 850cc, it took in the E classes and the O class which up to then had been a hydroplane class, the "U" class was kept as a V configuration-----I believe this to be correct at the time of going to press--------however-----being of unsound mind and weak of limb I reserve the right------to whatever I am entitled to, etc, etc, etc,

Lasse Strom was bloody good in that class along with Paul Kalb, Roger Jenkins, Michael Werner, Tony Williams, in fact most nations could field quite a few world class racers. That was until they allowed "Funny fuel"---------methanol, oxydol? Alcohol, Pepsi, You name it, they ran it, finally the class disappeared up its own backside through lack of parental control-------really was a beautiful class while it lasted.
