To mycredit Rich, I have never fallen out with any one over a commision and I won't ever fall out with you over an inanimate object. I thought along those lines of the Roller being Classic----not sure of the DAX------could swop for a '20/30s hydro. Just wondered if we were singing from the same sheet. I could have been miles off track------will have to think of a decent base, it measures nearly four foot.
Mark has a marble and granite guy next door-----At least, it will never get stolen with a granite base.
Would not dream of posting the price on here-----need your email address or will try a PM.

Promised you an explanation of the last piece I did,
Was a lump of firewood I liked the look of, I'm forever foraging everywhere I go.
every piece has an alternative -----the 35mm crystal I picked up at the car boot sale for a fiver.
Every angle was totally different with superb graining and figuration , in fact I hardlly touched IT, but I did give it three coats of beeswax------it needs a spotlight shining down on it and V

After playing about on my iPad for the last four hours, four of my grandkids decided mine has no 3G, is almost obsolete. The reason I can't put pictures upright instead of horizontal is---------iPads dont. This is the unanimous conclusion reached by my grandkids at the Wilson family shindig in Nottingham . It's gone midnight, it all kicked off at noon, the 80th birthday party of my brothers wife Jackie.
i had no idea one of my brothers grandkids was a R&B guitar freak, punching out oldies like "GO JOHNNY GO".
33 bottles of Pink Tattinger were consumed by the 100 or so guests at a big posh hotel in Newark.
Last huge gathering of the wilson clan was 20 years ago for "NIPPERS" 60th.
really bushed so I'll say goodnight and MYGGWY . J.

By the cringe, that was one hell of a party.
Slept like I died, didn't even get up for a "Tinkle" in the night.
Seems like a lot of my relations done a hell of a lot better than I have judging by the rows of Aston Martins parked outside the front-------peasants parked in the car park provided for 'em.
Will tell you all about the get together in a later post, the old biddies rockin ----most of 'em left their zimmers on the side--------but I have to say , I felt twenty years younger when I watched that lot throwing theirselves about like it was 1960.
Gotta go, the breakfast served here at "KELHAM HOUSE COUNTRY MANOR HOTEL" is legendary .

From my house to Newark and back is close to 500 miles------like a good vintage wine, I do not travel well unless I'm in the driving seat, I get the fidgets, the cheeks of my arse ache----I do not sit comfortable in the passenger seat for long distances. Hence I am glad to be back home.
83 on Friday -----so I spread the word I need a brand spanking new 128 IPAD AIR? Most of the request fell on stony ground, but just maybe somewhere, a seed fell on fertile soil and took root.
Aston Martin VANTAGE is my brothers girl Julie's, treated herself to it when she sold half of Sherwood Forest for a holiday camp.
Breakfast was a full English with all the trimmings AND black pudding -----very nice except it was clap cold, bacon undercooked, overcooked mushrooms, but it's nearly impossible to spoil a poached egg and I swear the baked beans were straight OUTA the tin., The legend died there and then.
im knackered , MYGGWY .J.

Deep into January already, temperature reached double figures yesterday and 11 degrees today, colonials are getting a hard time, me myself detest that white stuff.
Mark reckons if any more snow birds come down to Florida it'll break off into the ocean.
Deaf aid next door to useless, got a hospital appointment in Bognor Regis today to sort the problem, Jilly gets pissed at me for constantly saying "YA WHAT"?
Got almost a full day in the workshop, nothing definite planned, just play it by ear.
Seems like an eternity since I last got behind the wheel, in actual fact it's five weeks, just got another seven to go before I'm street legal again.
Just gone 6 am -----no where near daylight yet but I can't lay here all day wishing my life away.
You feeling any better Stavros ?
You battened the hatches DONMAC, you ever do anything with the guitar base?
Gary and the Pilgrim gone quiet,------hibernating putetre !
May play about with this chunk of firewood, rigor mortis well and truly set in, see if I can give it the kiss of life, I'm OUTA here, de dawn is breaking, and a new day just begun!

Hi jack, haven't been here for a while now, just read the past few months posts! seems I missed a whole bunch of bad news! I hope everyone here is living in some sort of comfortable existence and enjoying life!
I haven't done anything with the guitar body yet! working 7 days a week all summer leaves a lot of catch up on home improvements to be done throughout the winter! I'm currently building a new fireplace in the house [great timing, but it's the only time]. -21C here this morning! I did have a good weekend though, bunch of the neighbourhood boys came up to the cottage for an icefishing weekend, we had a great time, weather on the lake was good with little wind, lots of sunshine and temps around -5C perfect! I dismantled my 14" cutoff saw to use as a handheld and cut an old 350lb. propane tank in half, one of the boys built a nice aluminium checkerplate sled to haul behind the snowmobiles and had a roaring fire out by the huts, fun and laughs for Friday eve and Sat. walked back to the neighbours cottage Sun. morn to pick up my snowmobile and realized that the foot tracks I left coming home were pretty much impossible to follow in a sober state, must have put much damage to the Gibson's finest inventory!
Keep pluggin away on the woodworking and my best wishs to all here on the thread!

Jesus wept Don, I live the life of a Benedictine nun compared to you, and you get things for Christmas -----I just get grief!!!
Just what kind of a dingleberry waits until January AND 21 below before he builds a fireplace Duh?
Feel free if you wanna take over the " tricks" thread, or at least put a few sentences out every other maunday Wednesday .

yes sir, the same idiot who's dum enough to work 7 days a week all summer! I got something for Christmas, a nice hydro bill! the old open fireplace just wasn't doing anything constructive unless you were within 3 ft. I had this planned in the summer and fall but time was fleeting so it's happening now! next winter will be easier on the pocket book. heatpumps with back up electric aren't meant for Canadian climates unless you have a hydro plant on your lot!The house was built with the intention of being in florida for winters, but that is not the case now! I've got another open fireplace upstairs in the master which this dummy will probably end up doing next winter!

thought you might want to check out the material I've been using. Swedish product called "Skamol225" very expensive $270 for a 48"x80" board! It better be good!

Had the deaf aid fixed this afternoon-----threw it in the channel (just kidding)seems to me it's a little better-------Jilly's happy----I'm not saying "YA-what" quite as much! Took four minutes to fix, let's see how long it lasts, me myself think it's simply an old git thing.
Was cooking with gas from before 8:30 this morning------carving, shaping, sawing, chiseling, sanding and polishing that last piece of firewood I thought might have died years ago.Underneath all the crap was a heart of beauty and antiquity . Course, then I had to make a base and a mount, then I was none too happy with the overall shape so I reshaped it until the proportions FELT right.
Put six and a half hours into the piece up to now------another four, then I'll post a piccie. If I do any more of these, I'm investing in an extractor -----got a chest full of snot and deadwood dust.
Eyelids are closing every five minutes-----need a nap----MYGGWY,J.

Bright eyed and bushy tailed as my sainted mother used to say------good way to start the day.
Marks about to pull "Old Blue"------reckons it feels ok but better safe than sorry, can't have done much work, but it could have run a million hours . Don't suppose there ever was any covers, cowls or pans with it if it was experimental.
Its in safe hands, purists have no need of worry, it will not be bastardised!
forecast is reasonable, was 11 degrees again yesterday -----warmer the Barcelona----little cooler today ------4" of snow due north of Nottingham, be nice to get winter over and done with.
Got a med cruise booked for sometime in June, but that's half a year away, gotta pack a lot into life before then!
Oliver De Montfort Wilson is one of my brothers kids----21next month, and smart as they come, he set up "Facebook " for me. -----still haven't got to grips with it-----hundreds of people want to be "Friends"------WHY?------even I wouldn't want to be friends with me!!!------I did try it once before, but didn't think much of it----------poor mans SCREAM AND FLY, I reckon.
Murphy is jumping all over me, reckons I should be up and running ----not punching keys on the pad at 6:30 in the morning, better do what she says, she's getting well pissed at me.
