Thank you,why the hell can't i do that?
Could have been a day out of my life while waiting the last 15 hours for a hospital call, no point in getting pissed off at them, I know they're snowed under, so I try to learn new skills on a computer-----do constructive things-----think positive-----do speech therapy to myself------workshop is too damn cold, will likely spend more time annoying and aggravating friends and acquaintances . It's times like these I try and slow life's journey-----kinda prolong life, slow it down a little, rise sooner, sleep less.
Crazy as it seems I didn't have time for tipple tonight and here we are getting to the witching hour----body craves sleep------mind says different-----logic and common sense says shut down sunshine,
your asking for trouble so thank you one and all that's it until the morrow-----sleep well, MYGGWY.J.

In spite of it all, I slept like a "new born"-----getting on for six and still dark, went down and made Jilly her coffee and me a tea --neither of us take sugar, Jilly announced she was ringing my doctor this morning to sort out the inordinate amount of hospital waiting time-----she's breathing fire and brimstone------damn but I love that girl even more when she's ticked off. Enough already, what do ya think about the upright old blue? Handsome on a Friday morning or what?
Another cold wet and windy day, so which ever way but loose-----won't be visiting the shop, for my friends, some of you may be wondering, Speech back, 95%, feeling in arm and fingers 100%--head still a bit wooly-------activity------- middling.
Summary of two strokes-----YOU will know and feel something's very wrong-----you need help in a hurry, here we dial 999-----the first half hour is crucial to avoid permanent damage. My first thought was to laugh and tell myself " I don't do strokes". WRONG. It's no respector of persons, it will make a mess of you if you let it!!!

If anyone wants to comment on this please feel free to do so!!! If you got "TRICKS" share 'em.
Morning all, here's to a brand new day

When you said " two strokes" I figured you were going to add some extra oil so you wouldn't seize the pistons.

I noticed a couple of thing in your picture. Must have been a shortage of head bolt nut at Merc.; right side bank are all missing. The head water covers appear to be die cast suggesting this engine was further along in development than the original or they used parts from the production 3 cylinder. Just saying.

It's basically as it arrived Johnno, on Wednesday. Mark removed the rest of the bolts to show the motor would turn------the cooking head covers were all that came with it. I should imagine they never altered in thirty years anyway . Will get the begging bowl out for authentic bits and bobs before long. You're welcome to keep on "Just saying" as long as you want Johnno.

When I first found the engine at plt 64 in Oshkosh 20 years after it dissappeared, it was missing it's original sandcast heads. Wanting to get it properly buttoned up, I obtained a pair of production diecast heads and put them on. When I left the engine there I had everything all properly tightened up and spark plugs in place. I don't know why someone pulled it all back apart later and never put it back together properly.

If you ever do find out-----who and why? I will gladly put it in with the rest of the history. My son Mark is putting together OLD BLUE. He's a stickler for authenticity and detail so there will be no bastardisation I can promise you that. We are open to advice, help and parts from anyone, anywhere, and pretty soon he will show you piccies as he progresses and builds----. I had heard it sported a cooked piston, but that's not so, he tells me they look to be in pretty good shape.

Mark and me spent an hour on FaceTime looking through the " circuit racing section of THE X FILES"-------lots of myths laid to rest-----including the MAGNUM MISSILE------inseption, designer, constructor, objective, performance, and disasters,------will get Mark to send me stuff a smidgin at a time-----probably more interesting than I could conjure up, though I do have a great funny to tickle your taste buds.
Thats the beauty of "TRICKS" ------it's just like a box of chocolates -------you never know what your gonna get " till you look in there as forest used to say-------oh yes-----we have a Forest working on
    "old blue"-----------HONEST TO MURGATROYD .
