Depending on how high the engine sits from the top of the transom you might make a set of plates with jackbolts that are captured under the engine allowing for safe and simple adjustment with slotted upper mount holes.

Im thinking a 1/4 plate on each side between the motor and transom. Motor mount bolts come through threaded holes in the plates and thats all sealed up with 5200. Red Locktite on the holes through the plates so the bolts never turn. Motor moves up and down never breaking the seal behind the aluminum plates.

The question will be will my steering clear the top of the transom with almost no setback. I would know until I start bolting things up.

On a side note, I did get wet today...

I was having trouble getting up on plane. Pulled the cowl off while floating to fiddle with the low speed mix and timing. Next thing I know Im going over the side of the boat with the cowl in my hands....
I held onto the cowl not wanting it to sink and Im trying to swim with a nose full of salt water. Im splashing about when I realize I can stand up. Its only about 3' deep

Dago was there and for once didnt have his GoPro rolling. In 25 years of boating its the first time I have fallen out of a boat. 6'3" 225 pounds holding a cowl over my head falling out of a 13' boat had to look hilarious. You know people die falling in a ........

i have seen 2 people forget to stand up and try to swim in 2-5 feet of water.. i saved them both by yelling....STAND UP !!!!! hahaha

Nope. Its a one off piece built by a guy who worked for NASA. He died not long ago. Built some really amazing stuff.

It does look nicely done, I have been planning to eliminate all the factory mount and build out new from the swivel pin on a project. Just not going to happen right away.

Dagodiver (machinist extraordinaire and local S&F brother)and I were talking about some things that could be done today. Have the Keys run next weekend and then can start on this. June is a CRAZY month for me a I sell about half my flagpoles for the year in the 4 weeks leading up to July 4th. Probably 500-700 orders in June so it may be slow going on the boat. The upside is I can pay for toys

I know a guy not too far from you that might just be able to figure this out. He drives a 5spd 7.3, has a fast fishing motor and whips up a very tasty brandy
