Some of the big differences are the way the transom is reinforced, also where all the sharp corners were on the top deck the new one is rounded more plus reinforced with more fiberglass in the areas where stress cracks were on the old boat, there are PVC tube pieces under the deck for the ease of the rigging also. Plus having no wood to worry about is nice too. The finish on the outside of the boat is night and day different too. I liked my old boat don't get me wrong but there were a lot of improvements made with the new ones.

Thanks for the feedback. Great to hear about the improvements. It has been 16 years since I drove my old Talon 22, but I still remember the awesome ride and performance.
Interesting comment on the transom reinforcement. When I added nitrous oxide systems to the twin 2.5's the transom was flexing enough to cause a major crack in the cap. A local shop made significant structure improvements and I'm glad to say Gary Armington of Talon stepped up and helped share the cost.

Joes truck has more miles on it from backing the boat up and down the ramp than going down the road.

This 22 is without a doubt the finest example to ever be rigged. The rear lounger and usable sun pad is an amazing improvement. Most factory 22's built by Gary Armington came with 10" Bobs Jackplate's. That's what mine had. The boat ran 95 on GPS with a 300X however I forgot which prop I had. I tip my ball cap to Randy again for a fluid work of art in motion. Well done.
