They are race boats and not pleasure boats so the finish is what it is. I would be surprised to hear that build quality is poor...

    22 feet of pure adrenaline!

would love to see one compete in LOTO next year!

The LOTO class would proly be: NCO1F1 (if powered by a single 300XS)

or class NCO1M1 (if powered by a single CRT motor)

The Talon builds are priority. Especially this silver one starting here in a week or two.

    .

Noli, that was our plan this year was to take one of the Talons with a single 300xs out to LOTO and run the Skater. With our work schedule and the guy who owns the Talons work schedule, it just became to much. Hopefully next year and with more boats.

I've seen the quality and attention to detail that goes into all of SEB's builds. Strength isn't going be an issue. Todd also has the ability to go as high tech as you want but it can double the price for what, a 20% reduction in weight? I suppose it all depends on what your priorities are but I have seen a lot of production and custom boat layups over the years and I don't think anyone is building a better quality boat in this category than SEB.

....hmmmm. Not trying to be critical....Sounds like a lot of design changes that aren't going to be tested for performance? Kinda loses the benefit of "copy" if the mod's are unclear as to how they will perform together? A design feature on one hull doesn't necessarily behave similarly on another hull, or at a different speed, HP or weight. Sounds like a great project, though!

If you take care of me on the price and can fit 3 across the front I could be your first buyer. I am close to getting my hands on a 400ROS and was going to try it on my 21 Xtreme but I can divert it to this project.
    Let me know,

    Eric

I can widen the hull and cockpit to get 3 across the front. As far as getting the 400ROS for it, I can get them to, but you will have to race the boat at a few recognized organized events to meet Mercury's criteria for getting them. It can be an offshore race or even a drag racing event. These motors are around $44K each and with no warranty. Also, I hope you are talking about the 24' and not the 21'? the comment I made about "straight out of the existing molds" was in reference to the 24' boat. Thanks

the epoxy 21s were vac bagged.

key is it has to be built better.
The copy I had to work on was a POS, took some reinforcing just to get it to stop sounding like a bag of junk when it was being driven, the entire forward deck looked like it was collapse under the weight of one person walking on it
Tank went bad at only about 6 years old because it trapped the water around it ( and I now see 28 skaters with alum tanks installed the same way- those will fail too )
big section of the divincell bottom delaminated

both sides had built in hooks in the bottom

    Hi RobF,

What's the correct way of installing tanks such that water does not sit around the tank AND how would the alum tanks in the Skater 28 be fixed?

    Thanks.

I am talking about the 24. I would like to run a foot throttle on in but I know these motors don't use cables so I am not sure if they have a module for it. Do you have any renderings of what the deck and cockpit will look like? Drag races will not be an issue. I attend a bunch of events.

Ah, I meant the Finnish (European) boats - the Twister and the Argo. They are race boats (offshore).
