    We’ve done it both ways.

    Your brain says, brain up-hill.

    Reality is, it doesn’t matter.

    Comfortwise, feet up.
    Plenty of room.

Feet down, youre shoulder to shoulder.

Feet down does make it easier for the Mrs to get to the head in the middle of the night
    Which she will.

Warm sand, warm water, warm wind in the hair on a boat… Of all the various gear head ways to have fun, this is the one everyone comes back to.

    Thanks for sharing everyone.

I picked up this old CAT minibike frame, straightened the forks, stripped it all do bare metal, powder coated the handlebars, painted the frame, got a little predator motor and have other parts on the way hopefully soon, plan to use it at the drag races to get around the pits.

    Very cool.

How fast is the Poncho and what is the motor?
I think I read it was a 455 back in your day.

Bonus points if it's still Poncho powered.

Gator it is a 1966 389 4bbl with TH400, basically stock, small cam, roller tip rockers, shorty headers, 2.5 exhaust, I recently rebuilt my transmission, been doing car shows and not much racing, I did take it to a YouTube event in Missouri on the 8th mile track, it won a few and lost a few, almost got it in the 9s but got flagged for a trans leak, she does good as a daily driver which is what I really wanted it to do.Click image for larger version.

    Very nice!

    Really clean engine compartment.

    A 389 is a nice piece!

We did the car shows in Dennis Fishers’s ZO-6 TA and then our ‘74 MGB after selling the TA.

Sold the MG to move south so just watchin for now

Mr Fun, yep the "Pancho" is the Pontiac, nickname given to them in the 60s.

Here is a pic from the last show I attended, have another one coming this Saturday.

It is no show car though, I just attend for the fun of the shows Click image for larger version.

Thanks Mr Fun, no show car for sure, built it to be able to do daily driving duties but look ok for cruise ins, small car shows and such, I wanted the inside to be clean and new, the outside to be a good 20 footer since daily driving was in the plan, I can touch up the flat black if it gets scratched with a sharpy marker and I'm good with that Click image for larger version.

Down south in fla the car shows are getting active. It's crazy all the nice stuff that people collect and show.

Talon I follow the same plan on my old Camaro. It looks good but it is driven so it has chips and the interior is not perfect.
Oh boy, does she run strong though....That's where I concentrate my efforts.

    Perfect!

I remember having this in a local, for fun car show and a Chrysler geek checked the vin plate and commented on it not being a true 440 six pack car and he thought I wished it was a hemi car.

I laughed at him and told him, “hell no!”

I loved that it was a bastard child (orig ‘68 383 car) and told him I can afford to blow up my 440 but not a hemi.

Had a true six pack hood from a swap meet, 440 motor from a ‘69 Coronet RT that I totaled when I was 19, a new Holley reproduction 6 pack intake.

    It was a ten footer.

Always loved the lines of the ‘69 1/2 440/6 Super Bees but couldn’t afford to buy/beat on one so I built it.

Spent 2 yrs reading everything ever written about building a 440 before building it.

Ported the heads, bigger valves, used the best machine shop etc.

Was rewarded w/a motor that would turn 7k in all 4 gears (saw 6700 in 4th), didn’t use oil, never broke and was a blast to drive!

One time I drove it to the local track, jacked it up, bolted on slicks and got in line!

Was blown away when the hard core racers started coming up to shake my hand, saying that’s how they all started.i

I had an evil ‘02 Trans Am w/a full zoot Z-06 based motor, 6 speed manual with 4.10’s.
An amazing car but did not have the soul that the Bee did, or your Goat.

    Way cool dude!

Xstream I agree on the driving- I go every year out to Hershey park and it’s an amazing show with nice cars but when I see a 1980 4spd Camaro with 280 original miles I don’t get it- nothing wrong with a little patina and enjoying the ride- currently looking for something but everyone is pricing things a little stupid right now.
