Don’t forget George H.W. Bush. He had multiple Fountains over the years. His last was a 38 foot center console with triple 300 mercs. They said he only had two speeds no wake and full throttle. He also loved to scare the crap out of passengers and it didn’t matter if they were heads of state.

Roy Rogers was a boat racer back in the fifties in Southern California. He was one of the owners of Yellow Jacket Boat Co. they made molded mahogany plywood boats. When fiberglass came in and took over the company folded and Roy switched to Power Cats.

Didn't Don Johnson from Miami Vice have several go fasts over the years. The show was before my time.

Yep, he won the APBA in ‘88.

are there any more modern famous people that really got involved in boats? I’m not talking about breaking out the credit card for a yacht and crew.

He raced with Kurt Russell and Chuck Norris - great video out there with Reggie Fountain going by them in his 42 Fountain with triples - you can hear him on the intercom saying "Bye, Bye Hollywood" or something like that.

Long Beach California and the stars participated in the boat race.

I went to the race and, saw Goldie Hawn came to wish her beau Kurt Russell with Don Johnson good luck
    .
Veteran boat racer (Mercury guy) Richie Powers was at the throttles.
