Wally Lamkin the owner of Triad boats the builder of STV's before Jack B got the molds had his son running in Lake Racer class drag racing 1/4 mile, the boat was the top boat at that time and Wally said to me they said that all that set back would not work...
He proved them wrong with his son winning time after time

That's the bracket I was looking at. Anything wrong with bolting my jack plate to it to get my 12"?

Not at all ... works good. Thats how I did my Superboat. Bought a 6" ran it for a while, decided it wasn't enough and added 4" .

The big hub wheel we talked about the other day ... does it have a flair ring at the back .. ??? If so, chuck it in the lathe and cut it off as short as possible. Big hub adds length to the gearcase (stability) and without the ring it won't add any additional influence to the handling.

As always, tell the princess I said howdy ...

P.S. How does she like her new boat ....

I did the cut down mod to a tempest prop. One of my best runners now.

    83 V-King, 96 Mariner, ff block 2.5 w/a 28p chopper
Ain't it great to have papa TRUMP back at the helm?

It does. I need to carry it to my machinist amd get some holes in it.

The chopper feels way more solid and settled then the scorpion but I feel that's because the scorpion was actually lifting the boat and trying to get up.

She loves her new boat and I'll tell her buddy

Ok so raised the motor up some more. The "some kinda cut" chopper sucks now. Won't get the boat up and only running mid 60s. Adding trim does nothing to the attitude of the boat. Bow stays down.

The solas scorpion is getting her up on the pad and banging the limiter at about 80. Boat rides good but I still feel I'm trimming way above level.

So I'm needing to search for another prop. I like the hole shot of the over the hub. Any suggestions? I do need to add my extra set back still though.

This is the chopper. Not sure what cut it is. I know it started as a small ear

The 4 blade will have better holeshot and cruise and will only be a few mph slower, also the 4 blade is way smoother due to its balance properties

You need a Mazco RE-4 or RE3,a Spinelli is a good choice also

I have a RE3 that's at the prop shop being cleaned up right now. Hopefully that has more bite

I ran every prop known to man on my Vegas V-Bottom and on my Daytona and never found any other prop that had better bowlift, holeshot and top speed than the Mazco, the only prop that was almost as good was a Spinelli

My Vegas had the identical bottom as your Vulture because it was an early Vegas, they changed the bottom on the newer model
Vegas. The difference is the seating is much farther forward in your boat so a prop with lots of bow lift is a must

I agree. A driver m9d would be my best bang for the buck. As in shedding 100 lbs. Lol

Been running it and enjoying it. My C-Hawk is done for the year so I can replace the floor and stringers so I figure there is no point in letting a perfectly good 300 sit around while getting my floor replaced....Click image for larger version.

    Couple Videos from labor day

Running 83 at 6300 RPM with a hill 28p 4 blade on the limiter and it gets to there quick. When it does his the limiter the sudden lack of acceleration REALLY upsets to boat LOL
Going to locate a 32 i think. I really like how the 4 blade carries the boat. Also going to add my 6" extensions
