This is the start of the 152 MPH run..its only 3/4 of a mile long straight and Ben need a bit more to reach the 165 MPH top speed.
    A note..Ben re-powered this 2007/08 Fountain 42 for a friend of mine in Sweden.
Its going back to Sweden later this year.

One more picture of the 152 MPH run.
Ben did not do anymore runs. He was happy with this run Saturday.

This boat (Karelsen hydro) went on to bump the record to 176 mph. An aero canopy and rudder were added with a fixed position made for the engine. SeaWay Marine has this package now. Myth has it that Hering had the propeller to get this rig to 200 mph?

Well..does not matter..it’s to late now..
The Bad might be, if Travis had a Evinrude tattoo on his body.

But then where on his body, would he put a Evinrude tattoo?

1987 I imported this new Fletcher from England to Sweden. Installed a brand new 1987 Evinrude 300XP 3.6 liter V8 with power-steering.
My friends told me the boat was way overpowered but I think it was not..
    (Rated for 150HP)

I dont know, but probably not. She did not comment on my FB post but placed a very nice picture from Havasu 1969 instead. Coming next.
I can see Renato's brother behind the cockpit and I think its Fabio Porta next to Jack Leek looking at the crane.

Cathy McConnell...My best memory from Don Henrich... Don, special made, me a propeller for my red F3 Burgess/AKAI/Evinrude CC 1981. We were out testing in Sweden a few days before the big race in Nottingham, UK 1981 and I lost a propeller blade during the test. This prop. done by Don was by far the best..

No cell phones back then..but a billion "Swedish" quarters in a local pay phone and I got Don on the other end in Waukegan.
    Told him about the problem..
Don told me he was working on another prop for me and it could be ready in an hour..
I can drive down to the Ohare airport, Chicago and try to get the prop on a plan to Sweden today.
This was a great effort and the 6 hour time differens helped out..It was early morning in Waukegan..
Believe or not next day I got the propeller at the Stockholm airport and took it with me to Nottingham..No time for testing..
Yes..I won the F3 race the following weekend in Nottingham..
I was so grateful for Dons effort to help me out.

That was some drama! Never heard this before! If the "team" decided to stand down in the last heat, why did they even let Hering's boat get in the water? That's what happens when you have corporate sponsors and the boss writes all of the checks. I can see why Bob Hering disappeared a little while later..............
