1969 New Zealand advert. Many here remember the strict post war foreign currency controls of the 60s and 70s.

We did several runs there, 10 or so yrs ago when we lived in Fla but had no idea there was a history there before us???

    Very cool.

I remember going on one of the first Kissimmee river excursions with my dad and my brother probably 57 or 58. My dad had an old Glenn craft with a 35 horse expired Johnson on it. I was only nine or 10 at the time the river was still twisty back then, but then the boondoggle Florida politicians decided to turn it into part of the cross Florida bar canal or some **** and they straighten the damn thing out in the early 60s. Later on in the early 70s, we went on the river with my dad that he had an S 22 at the time And still enjoyed it but the river was just not the same natural state now they’ve tried to restore it back to its natural state since they decided nature is smarter than man.

    Very cool story!

    I loved the area.

I remember one early morning trip there for a rally, @ 80 mph on Rt 60 west bound the STV behind us, the sun was just starting to come up when I saw a barely visible shape on the road just ahead of us!

I swerved and barely missed a HUGE dead alligator!

Big enough to cover the entire west bound lane!
    10'???

The very top of its head was gone and looked like it had just been scalped!

Cant even imagine hitting that in the dark!

Yeah driving the roads in Florida can be a little scary at times between big turtles, alligators and even cows on the road sometimes back in the old days. This all happened before alligator Alcatraz became so popular! Lol!

Some of the last trips in my dad‘s North America S22 were some of the most enjoyable I remember the last several years of the trip you could continue on and either go down the Caloosahatchee river over to Fort Myers or they would take the Eastern route through the locks and come out In Stuart, Florida, and even finish up at Francis Langford‘s restaurant there in Jensen Beach. Always stopped at River Ranch for a big party there every year

Another dream has come true. I started building this boat over a year ago. I had one before that I restored, but it was sold to Chromecars Black and Gold company in Germany. It's taken 725 hours to build it this far.
