    Bill Cooper .....

Not sure how many remember what I think was the one and only POWERBOAT Pictorial.

Perhaps relevant because it has this great picture for its era of Bill Cooper & the beautiful twin Jones.
This picture always 'stuck' with me as Bill Cooper looked like what I thought real boat racers should look like - tuff & serious.
Couldn't agree more ..... I've said before that Bill Cooper was boat racing's Steve McQueen. He was a cool dude that didn't need a stand-in for any of the scenes. He could drive the nuts off of a race boat, charm any woman at the party and converse with the President ..... and probably preferred to do it it that order.

On the farm we would call that plowing the field, digging deep with your engines wide open.

    Washing the Wing .....

Gene said the Wing was a big boat with several 'tough to get to' areas. He's done this several times, saying this was an efficient way to get the Red Bird sparkling clean. I say that's BS, it was just a sly way to save some time that could be spent with the other 'birds' roaming around in the pits.

That would be great (assuming Jeff remembers anything ) .....

We first saw the boat run at PHYC--one of their 2 Hour events--1969

Jeff may choose not to remember--

Where is Jock and the "El Lobo?' Somewhere I have pictures of El Lobo after Jock sold it to the Chrysler guys with the twin Chrysler stackers. Some day I will find them and post them. It was at the Clearwater Fun 'n Sun Regatta.
