I was in a small vee bottom race boat at half that speed and in huge gust the wind picked it up into the air rolled it to left gunnel then right gunnel all why it was in the air, luckily it hit the water before it went past vertical on the right gunnel.
Racer behind me said it was spectacular but couldnt be sure what side to pass...
When the wind speed can alter your balanced water/air speed by a huge amount look out...

No disrespect here, but please dont blame the boat. Any type of boat that hooks on a narrow river or close to land would likely have the same outcome. Speed is dangerous, period. I think most of us know the risk. Never knew this gent but know guys like him. RIP brother. RR

Such a tragedy especially on Christmas day. On a side note was this the same guy that was screwed over on the new Mirage boat with poor quality this summer?

When you get over 115 mph you are entering a new zone, especially if you are light

The fly weight Allison’s w/Gonzo power are as quick as the tunnel boats.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.
