Seems like a news blackout? It's best to keep these on the DL since what's out there is speculation and misinformation on the CA boating forum? Shocking and very sad. Godspeed Kevin. Soldier on.

I saw a it out of the corner of my eye. It looked like Kevin may have nosed in when trying to negotiate the rollers and at about the same time the #48 boat looked like it was going over but just came out of it. There are many occasions in the enduro that boats need to be pulled off the track and it causes an unsafe situation for drivers. I had a conversation with a buddy and he had an interesting idea to use jetskis to rescue stalled boats and if there is an accident at least near the pits a caution flag should go up and boats should slow down until the track can be cleared. Just my two cents since I have watched this race for years and hope they can make the sport safer and thus more racers will participate.

Tragic for sure, I had no idea of Kevin's passing till after the race when I was told by Ross.

its all speculation, but to see the damage first hand its frightening.

Rules need to be addressed and changed. adding dead weight and localized is a bad practice. it puts stresses in areas never intended to support the added weight. Tech needs to be more stringent, if weight needs to be increased to meet rules, do it with fiberglass, making the boats safer.

no idea if the added weight was a factor in either case, but we all need to start somewhere.

    Kevin will be missed
