The prop knows water is being pushed onto the blades because the low pressure disappears.

I'll keep it simple ... excess velocity .

For a more elaborate hypothesis in which to become more even enamored into a deeper state of "Tech-lock" , just google "fluid dynamics" or "boiling points and differential of phase change in super critical fluids" ....

My wife and the other couple we were with , thought there was something in the pie once I started giggling and couldn't stop ...

One of the best classes I ever took was in Norwalk Ohio. We were at the race track for the second day of rain and I came bailing out of my motorhome with my nose tucked in my shirt and a can of raid in my hand . I proclaimed ... *&^% # $(*&^#@^%$ ants are everywhere in there . My slow talkin buddy from W. Virginia asked : Did ya bring em from Florida with ya ? No I didn't bring them from Florida with me .
Well then , it seems to me that yu'd be better off sprayin your poison on ya tires and the ground around them . Ya know , stop em before they come in yur house . Not wanting to look like a fool , I waited till after most everyone went to bed and I went out and did like he said ... Next morning , my friend said ... worked pretty good didn't it ...

I remember from my moto-cross days , that we would drag a skeg on the inside of the turn . This must be the new "high side power rigger face plant " style I've heard about. And yes , I can see where you could burn your skeg doing this ...

Could be worse ... I could have posted images of "Dental cavitation's" ...

ok so its not water speed its the implosion of the gas bubbles ( when they land on a hard surface) caused by low pressure boiling the water.

The water lands on a hard surface ... hummm ... I get it now . The prop is really stationary and the body of water rotates around the blades ...

Does it get confused when dealing with twins or more than one boat at a time ..

I know when you stepped off that ski your world went , water , sky , water , sky , sploosh .. but I just looked outside at the river , it appears to be pretty flat ..

Well, since this thread really is titled for the 15" ROS engines, I guess we probably ought to at least have a little conversation about Matt Rice's 368 Skater, with Grant's over the top attention to detail...

Since this is Mercury, that unique alloy is probably about as unique as the "unique" aluminum alloys "created" for engine castings...

Never seen anyone with such a bad case of "MERCURY" envy.....You won't give them credit for anything they have done....
