Appreciate the concern. That Ring gear has seen 11K many times before this was built.

Question? Could this flywheel be assembled with countersunk allens, or is the plate material too thin? Large diameter head countersunk machine screws are available. Just curious.

    Guys,
Rich is a mechanical engineer with 35+ years experience and also builds his own drag motors. This is valuable information from somebody who is trying to help you.

No disrespect to engineers, but if we did what they say we would all drive stock 260's, 280's , etc. My father is an engineer and respect his opinion more than anyone I know. But people that push the known existing limits are the ones that move forward and don't reach a point and sit still.

Not like the starter is making the motor turn 10k, once running the ring gear is just along for the ride. If it's true and balanced not an issue anymore than a stock flywheel.

I know centrifical force and harmonics won't have any effects Just FYI I have a piece of a ring gear that DID break and another with a crack started hanging on the wall. OK, NOW I'm DONE trying to get the horse to drink...

I've seen up close what a broken ring gear does to a young girls face.
