I have run av gas in the snow twisters since new motor turns 11,500 no problems i have ran it in a drag zero issues and it costs here 3.60 a gallon they can't play with av gas because plane's crash but race gas on the other hand is becoming a joke these days $10 a gallon and now you need a msds sheet just to see what's in the crap now what a rip off

I can't for the life of me buy av gas in my area. Got some people I know that fly and they still won't hook me up. Any ideas?

One out of 3 of my local airports will sell to me. Drove my boat right on the ramp. They did not care. I found it ran well in my old 1500. My high dome 1500 push's 150 psi on my gauge. I ended up running 91 straight gas from my local gas station later on after testing. I thought I got just a bit more grunt out of the 91 than the overly cautious 100LL. I will have to agree with those who say you can have too much octane if looking for top hp for medium compression. I ran my fastest speeds with 91 in my rig. But 100LL was great IMO. Probably could get a bit more extreme on the advance with 100LL if needed. I thought some of the old racing brochures for the racing inline motors spec'd AV gas to be used. Might be wrong, but it seems like they did.

I've used it from time to time. Very smooth acceleration and the motor likes it. I do run a lot of total ign and psi is about 170, cross flow. Can also lean it a bit. I have been told buy a couple people in the know that it's not really LL but has a decent amount. I've mix 94 Sunoco with Royal Purple Octane boost and am very happy with that mix. One can mixed with 15 gallons gets you about 97.

Totally Agree, If your not actually a legit racer the avgas is a good alternative for the rest of us to keep our pistons in a solid state of matter, I also agree with the fuel gods that it is not the best for what we run it in but you can get alot more from a tweaked motor on relatively cheap avgas than trusting 93 at the pump and blaming all the burn downs on everything in the world, except the reality of what usually starts the process ,Detonation..
