That hills already scary enough just being wet.

I feel your pain had a bunch of snow then it warmed up and rained for a couple days. Now its a skating rink everywhere.
To bad you couldn't do the dual action foot throtle, I rarely use the hand throtle but is nice sometimes.

    You would joe.

Heres what i tell friends when they ask:

It's taken me one x wife, one x fiance' and 97 x girlfriends to get it right but i think i finally have.

    Here's the reality to it:

8 yrs ago i convinced a woman i had only known 3 months to move to florida w/me. This was my 2nd attempt and she knew it.

At that point, she was 32 yrs into a job/career that she loved, all with the same company, was tight w/all of her family, had a ton of friends and hung w/all of them when ever she had the chance.
Did i mention that she had a 22 yr old daughter too??

She gave up all of that......, to move down here w/me.

Tomorrow marks 7 yrs to the day that she and i stood on the beach at key largo, at sun set and exchanged vows.

May 23rd marks 8 months since her twin grand sons were born to her daughter and son in law who did not think they were able to get pregnant.

Last night made the 4th time in 8 months i've done the 1 1/2 hr drive to the orlando airport to put her on a plane to go play w/said grand sons.

In the last 2 yrs my siblings have taken my parents keys to their car, sold their car, sold their house, moved them to unassisted living, set up a trust, moved them to assisted living and are still struggling to do their best to hit a target that moves daily.

Me on the other hand, i have sold paint, composites, auto parts, built/sold powerheads, repaired boats, done handy man work, built airplanes, sold real estate and been unemployed.

Some times it takes a while for us to learn what is truly important but hopefully we all do.
    I have.

If she asked, i'd move to alaska with her.
sometimes life is bigger than boating etc
    happy wife happy life
good luck to you both and thanks for your help on here cheers tim

Beef, I may be close to having enough and may try it.

Dave, low near zero rest of wk. To top it off, after the last warm stretch I thought we were done w/snow and I could get away w/o doing anything to clear my huge driveway. Yesterday I spent $600. on a snow blower!
Just when I think I've got some disposable income....

Spanna, thank you sir and oh so true. I am really bad about getting tunnel vision on a project and making it priority one.
Then something happens w/your family etc, and you realizes it means nothing.

Finally got it on the water yesterday and all I can say is, it's EVERYTHING I was hoping for!

Out of the box, starts instantly, idled, shifted, near zero smoke (even w/double oil), ran cool, idled @ 650 in gear.
Those that know me, know I want a hot rod motor but don't want it to act like one around dock and smoking the place out.
I spend a great deal of time to get em there.

Still break in and tons of tuning to do but the basis is there and it's happy.

Conditions were sketchy at best (20 mph wind) but OK for break in.

One of the pleasant surprises was how well the heavy ass boat ran w/all the added set back and motor height. Even w/a full tank of gas and the motor all the way up (even w/bottom), it popped right on plane w/a 24" Raker. That shocked me.

Check out these shots. That's w/the VRO functional AND 50:1 in the tank.
And yes, it's running at dock.

Can you say sleeper from hell

I spend a great deal of time to get em there and this was w/the big bore carbs that everyone hates.

W/the additional power and set back, it drastically changed the feeling of it being a heavy ass, 55 mph ski boat to feeling like an A Bote.
From a 40 roll too....., yikes.

Check out these shots. That's w/the VRO functional AND 50:1 in the tank.
