If you have not personally contacted Mercury I would suggest you do that. Depending on the dealer your using relation ship with the mother ship you may get more action if you bitch to them directly. JMO

I was looking at the list of things you have checked... Is it possible something is blocking or partially blocking the air intake? Seems like if everything else major has been checked and passed it could be something as simple as this?

well slap me on the ass and call me stupid. (at least I haven't spent 25k on a zink propulsion unit that I could have bought a rental property for and had income for life). forgive me, the last outboard I bought was a J block 150 XS to run in the "classic raceboat association" events, fun out

That is a good idea, a complaining customer sometimes opens more doors then the dealership can. I would tell mercury I want the engine replaced already if they can't fix it. I would like to think that the tech rep has already been involved at this point

Send them links to this and whatever threads you have on Veradoclub. Worked for me when I blew through five Opti compressors in 500 hours.

This may sound to simplistic but ....if there is a bad spark plug boot insulator causing arching you could be losing big power. Run it at idle and see if you get a 'shock' (which you should not) or see any arching while attempting to hold and move each plug boot. Simple to do.

Found an innocent problem once this way that was stumping everyone about poor top power.

Have you considered another dealer or tech (s) with some knowledge with these newer motors?
I'm in NO way saying your current dealer or tech is not smart or familiar with these but sometimes they/we get mind locked, miss the simple stuff so maybe a fresh mind (s) may be able to help.
Either way GL and report back so we all learn from things like this!
PS; I would obtain and keep all documentation from your current dealer from day 1 plus when calling mother Mercury ask for supervisors!

looks like we were very lucky back on OZ, Merc headquarters were only 15 min away.
So its was DO you want the whole rig or are you coming with a handful of parts?
Of course you had to have a relationship where they knew you had done everything possible first.

Has your dealer had the computer on it while on the water.
Has he saved any run files, is it possible to get those files, to run on my computer, fresh eyes may do the trick.
What has happened when they did a cylinder drop at high speed?
What is the Load percentage at high speed?
What is the available power at high speed? This can drop without an alarm in some cases.

You can have an Air Leak between compressor, Electronic throttle, inlet to charge air cooler, the charge air cooler itself and charge air cooler to inlet manifold on cylinder head.
Sometimes you will only pick these problems up by comparing the run file data against a known good run file.
Mercury have a simulator which you can run a known good file on one computer and a playback of your engine on another computer side by side, and you can then see the difference.
There are also printouts of known good data at a few RPM ranges that you can compare against.
All this info and data should be in the dealers possession from the training courses that he has attended.
Well I have got it from training courses.

I have a solution that will work. This what you do send email to mother mercury of your problems And it needs to be addressed by 02/10/2016. When you get reply let them you will be attending the Miami Boat Show with very large copies of everything you have been dealing with from day one on a brand new motor. Your poster headline how can you sell something you can't even fix. Also let them know you will be a the Evinrude boot to help promote their sale with 7 years warranty.

PS i really hate your going through this not fair at all

LOL only mercury. so called them today after 9 hrs or water testing props and set up yesterday and all I get today is....I'll get with manger and call you later this week!

I took my boat and weighed it....I know it will sound like a fat girl to you guys but keep in mind this is a catfishing boat that is suppose to fly!...

Boat motor trailer and all fishing gear weighs 4300lbs.....

Trailer weight 980 plus a 30lb spare tire and carrier
    dry boat weight is 1600
    motor weight is about 700..
That leaves 900lbs un accounted for but I do have 2 batterys .....4 cast nets.....rods sinks 12 rod holders fish finder and trolling motor on front....trolling motor batterys are out right now.....so I don't think I have any un wanted weight from water for foam soakage.

I put a small 17 pitch on it ti goes into a cridical safe mode at 6075 rpms .....so it wont even rev the full 6500 with out freaking out.
