This blurry picture is from 8MM film from Parker 1969. Boat and driver looks unique. Does anyone know anything about it ?? Boat number appears to be 61.

Willabee should know this one, didn't Pruett have a Ron Jones triple, (don't remember the head dress, but it's just the sort of Barmy thing he would wear), seem to remember the stacks circa '69.

Looks like it is Gary Ferguson, he and Gary Gabelich sometimes ran with those plumes on their helmets. I think the pic below is the same boat that's in your picture, except it was rigged with Chryslers. He has the plume on his helmet in this pic also, it's just bent backwards and is a little difficult to spot.

I don't recall the hull, maybe built by Carlson? It's not a Jones. I can probably find the answer in an old Powerboat if you want to know what it is.

Red stripped motors, but look like 1100 style pipes.

At tomahawk there was a set of stacks for sale that were narrower that reminded me of these in that picture. They were one piece all the way to the manifold. They didn't look homemade, but they lacked any polish or nice chrome finish. The middle stack was broke off at the mid point and welded up poorly otherwise I may have purchased them.

Had 1250 merc on the for sale tag.

Wish I had taken a picture of them, never really seen any like them before.

The twin stacked Chrysler rig, thought that was a Carleson?

Looked for the boat in question in a few Powerboats from that time frame, no luck yet. Did see a couple of the drag boat, thought it said Carleson. I'll look again.

Home run Bob V....thanks. Interesting boat wonder how it ran ?? Ad seems like a poke at Mercury about no major modifications with all the stuff they were coming out with at the time.

The "Twister II" drag boat was a light layup Carlson with a special low cockpit The motors were wide open exhaust Chryslers with McCulloch mids & lowers
