Definitely Joe Swift in the yellow shirt. Can't see much of the other guy, but my guess is O.L. Steele?

Do you have the Havasu refueling picture I'm looking for?

Yes, that's the one, thank you!

Seeroy, on the left you see Jim Emerson, with fuel hose in hand, climbing aboard Stickle's record setter. Directly behind Emerson is Dennis Robbins with catch pole on Tom's boat. You should be able to name all others except the guy in the hat and black Merc jacket. I think that looking at Denny here will change your mind about who is in the C6 photo.

I have seen this photo before. Yes, above Dennis is Richie Powers, to the right is Roy Ridgell, the funny hat guy, and then R Dub. Which year is this photo? I still don't see Becky in the C6 photo. That guy just looks too clean for Becky. I will try to study it again later. Sadly Roy, Becky and R Dub have left this life. TTFN - Seeroy

    Stickle .....

Saturday it was cold and rough out there, but Tom set a new single engine record in spite of the miserable conditions. I believe it was most laps and average speed for each of the first four hours.

Single engine record setting performances at Havasu were not new to Tom. He recorded his first one two years earlier, in 1968. He drove one of the four 18' rocker bottom Molinari's Merc slipped into the event with the new direct charge 1350 (1250 Super BP) powerheads. It was the first time they had been raced and they looked pretty damn good. That year he not only set the single engine number of laps and average speed for the first two hours, he was actually running first overall as he did it! I'm sure there were a bunch of multi engine vee bottom drivers and even a few Wing pilots saying "what the hell was that?" as he motored on by. Alas, Tom couldn't stand the success and performed the infamous Molinari back flip much to the dismay of the big crowd.

Here's Tom back in the day, a shot of Tom at the start of Havasu 1970, a pic of one of the four 18' rockers from 1968, Tom cruising the Colorado at Parker and having some fun in the Everglades!
