So im in Oz playing with my mates stock LW 1850 Bullet with a stock 200 2.5 EFI
The boat is nearly new 4 months and the motor is an 06 with 103hrs.
With no engine height 2' below pad we recorded ,78mph with a 26 trophy 6100 rpms.82 Mph with a 29 Tempest 5600rpm.We are waiting on a Hydraulic Jack plate 6 inch setback and side ram hydraulic steering ,I will post some pic and results as we go.I am confident of solid speed gain with a more engine height obviously.
I am thinking a 26 T/E Cleaver as this rig will end up doing some ski racing ??.
From a Newbie Bullet drivers point of view ,The boat handled well in choppy water for a light boat and had a positive feel ,only to be let down by the el crapo hydraulic steering ,i still cant believe anyone would put such crap on a boat capable of over 60mph ,The fit up is also very ordinary lucky to be a 5 / 10 the previous owner said Bullet set it up for him ??.Does this sound right ??,Anyway we gunna make her good ,Look forward to the experts comments and any advice .

I think there is 3 companies at present in Australia making Bullets of various qualities. Thats why so many blokes buy back their old original hulls, made by the original Bullet Boat Co.
I think there is a civil or criminal negligent case up north at present due to injuries occuring in a relatively new boat.
Rigging a 5 out of 10, yeah, I know what you mean! If it is hidden it is good.
Good luck. Oh, Kim Bull down here in Vic has a brand new 27 or 29 TE Cleavor if you need one, Don has his number!97STV EURO & MERC 2.5 260

Hey Olmo - well done on the first shakedown run. You get that motor up where it belongs and it will be singing in no time
We had a short run yesterday for the first time in over a month. Finally got to run the 26P TE Cleaver I bought over Christmas. With 1 skier behind we ran out to 82mph which I though was pretty good for a 26. It had a bit more left in it, we just have to play around some more. Sure was nice rounding bends at that speed thoughPity about the wakeboard boats here and there
With regard to your fitup, as Woodduck said, a Bullet isn't always necessarily an original "Bullet Boat Co Bullet"... If you want a really top notch set of seats I can put you in touch with the guys who made mine (and also my marathon board for racing). They do all of the work for Lewis and Force, and their work is second to none. We origninally made a set of seats form scratch for my boat and they still have the moulds. Best seats you could ever hope for in a Bullet - they keep you low and snug.
If you're not happy with the current fitup, my advice is if you have the budget, junk what's in it (ebay is your friend) and start fresh. Lay it out the way you want and it'll be what you hoped for!
Oh, and for the record, I'm keeping my cable steering - it works well and I can feel every little bit of the boat.

Hi OZ,
Wakeboard boats arrgh.Sounds like your TE will be the goods.
We are not too worried about the fitup as we re going to start from scratch well nearly .It is really disappointing to see what they hae done .Our seats are ok just need re glueing ,remember this boat was new in August 08.
Dual ram Hydraulic Steering is ordered as is Hydraulic jacking plate .
What we are worried about is construction / layup of the Boat ??? Any thoughts or reports of trouble ?? There was talk here yesterday ,after a few brews of maybe selling and buying something else ?

Olmo, I suppose it will come down to your gut instinct. If you don't like the look of what you're seeing, sell up before you drop too much coin on it and seek out another hull.
A mate of mine picked an older 1750 hull up last year with no motor and has had it in his shed just slowly tidying up the years of abuse. When he's finished he'll have a tight, tidy boat and it didn't cost him anywhere near the price of a newer version.

This where we sit at 2.36pm today ,.I will post pics as we do the Steering and plate .The boat looks ok and its structual integrity looks good ,there are knees in the front of the boat giving extra support to the area in front of the drivers seat,The guy at Bullet up here convinced my mate he knows what he is doing .All i am going to do to the boat is glass the deck and hull as they are rivetted at present .Over the next month re do the fitout and take some small steps. Our bait is new to the sport so we will shake it down with some training runs .If all else fails I have a cunning plan.Remember i am only the boat boy .
