How cool. Do you have details of performance on the 21 Allison’s?

Could you please post the performance on the 21 Allison. For some unknown reason, Mercury is not releasing performance reports on the 200R unlike the previous R motors 300, 450 & 500. Before I spend approx. 20K it would be nice to see what sort of performance to expect

Probably because I have not released all of that information to Mercury or Allison yet, getting close though...just finished up all of the testing.

On a XB21 ProSport SUB with the 200R test engine, we saw a top end of 93.7 mph with a CNC and 93.0 with a new prototype prop that we are working on with Mercury. A Promax prop ran 90 mph.

In a separate application we had a 225 Promax run 98.xx MPH, removed it and installed the 200R test engine and backed it up with a 98.xx mph pass. The 200R runs well, but its not nearly as snappy as the 225 Promax.

    Good day
With reference to my message on 2-7-25. Have you or Mercury been able to provide a comprehensive test on the Mercury 200R similar to Mercury performance tests. I can't find one anywhere
    Thanks

We did the testing for Allison and Mercury Racing on a 2025 XB-21 Prosport. I submitted all of the test data to Mercury Racing and Allison but it doesn’t seem like its going to get posted.

The engine we ran was an early test engine labeled V6R -Basically it was a modified production engine with mechanical controls so we could easily move it from boat to boat and test different platforms. Without going into specifics there, here is what I can say:

Test Boat: 2025 Allison XB-21 ProSport SUB
    Engine: Mercury 200R w/ 1.75 Sportmaster

Setup for top end: Mercury CNC 5 Blade 93.7 mph @ 5800 RPM
    30P Prototype Merc Racing 4 Blade: 93.0 @ 6150
    30P Promax: 90 mph @ 6150
    28P Promax: 88 mph @ 6150
    26P Bravo FS: 84 mph @ 6380

We also ran it on an undisclosed 20’ Bass Boat

    225 Promax: 98.xx MPH
    200R: 98.xx MPH

The biggest difference is the Promax was quicker to topend by about 15 seconds, but as tested the V6R weighed 485lbs plus 27lbs for the cowl - 512lbs total w/ sporty and fluids.

It is most definitely on the positive side of 200HP.

Great info, thanks FPM!! Did you guys happen to get this 512 lb total weight for the 20" 200R from the tag or did you weigh it?

Thanks for this. There has been a lot of discussion about how accurate the listed weights are. Does the 512lbs include a prop? Thanks

Sounds like the 200R is roughly the same weight as a 3.0/3.2 liter Opti. Guessing the new 15" mid will most likely add a little weight to that number, but could definitely make a nice option for an XS/XB2003... A super fuel efficient 95 mph rig with only 200HP would be a nice package.
