Once refined it will be the best truck on the market by far. It has a side view screen too instead of mirrors, not legal yet, but most people whove used them prefer them to exterior mirrors because they eliminate the blind spot. Aerodynamics is more important to increase range with EVs. Its faster than the Ram 1500 with the viper motor. Tows as much as a 3500. Elon has never failed to deliver.

Only be the best truck to people who like it..
And hey to each their own..
Comparing it to a ram, ford etc w gas motors is apples to oranges..
Both motors have advantages..electric is not that clean by the time you deal with batteries, the people mining for them, charging mostly from coal plants(and when charged from coal plants their carbon foot print is up to 4x greater etc,the smelting process from recycling the batteries is even worse, the pollution from production and the greater amount of energy to produce them..
Now in a city if you used more electric cars it would be worth it because of the air pollution reduction. .someday but not soon but hopefully in the right path..at least he's trying for that .. as soon as I can charge it up in less than 1/2 hour even 80-90 % I'd be looking at one the power and speed is awesome..
    .I don't want a silent engine tho...lol
But definitely a Ford and that's probably not far off.. I don't know what they will do to it but it's just ugly. and side mirrors most vehicles have blind spot detection now..
But in all honesty I'll be buying a truck in a year or two and will be a long time before I buy another anyway so..

Chev , 148-150 kWh battery I think, next year.

New Suburban the next year. IRS now , good 3.0 Diesel , 470 torque at 1500 rpm , 10 speed. Could have electric version the year or two after , more capacity.

Very True, not quite 4x the footprint of an ICE. but indeed the carbon footprint is far from zero and in many cases more than ICEs. Lithium is just as non renewable as fossil fuels. I just love the instant torque, autopilot, and the gas savings personally and could care less about the noise if I'm going fast! But as you said, to each their own.

The US uses less that 30% coal to produce electric,

Tesla uses less than 3% Cobalt in their battery's and none in the not to distant future,

You can put a baseball card in your spokes for that real cool sound

The read one thing on Facebook and believe it getting good information is key. Listen to cuda he’s got real information. What I don’t get is how you can bash and say you energy comes from coal I can’t pick my electric provider way they produce power. Also food for thought 10 solar panels will allow you to drive for 15000 miles a year free.

    One I don't do Facebook...
I read.. that is real information
That's from engineering.com world economic forum.
Wired and a few other environmental and scientific magazines

    I wasn't bashing coal.
actually it's the mining and dealing with the batteries that are worse..I just said they both their advantages/disadvantages..
I actually even said..not far off meaning they are working on fixing that..
And where the hell did I say anything about where you get your power or it being coal?

I bought a trimotor with full steer and my other contractor buddy got the dual motor with full steer. Maybe I'll check back in in 2 years when it shows up. LOL. If I don't like It, I guarantee I can sell it for profit. The price is locked in.
If I don't ask any questions, I'll never learn anything.

anyways if they actually produce a truck at 40k that seems pretty reasonable but as with everything Elon there’s always a catch. The only thing I’m not sure about is air suspension and how you get it work at different heights. To get full hight you need higher air pressure than the suspension doesn’t flex as well. Then the reverse at low height bouncy and super soft maybe to much with a lot of body roll.
