Cor
What has happened to the COR class? I have seen nothing and their web site is dead.

They are still running. Mike Q owns the website and he isn't running COR anymore last I heard. Don't know if there is any online place talking about COR...none that I know of. You can always call Kevin at R&R Prop Shop/Mazco Propeller as I believe he's the COR chairman or something currently. 702-564-7502.

The group decided to change the name to Mod VP Classic. They outlawed pickle-fork boats. I rigged and ran the Laser 380 Ray last year at the Long Beach Sprint Classic but apparently the v-bottom is also outlawed. You have to give Kevin credit for being the most consistent entry among other things. Greg R. maybe the actual chairman. Hope you are guys are doing well Keith and Bobby. Best Regards

2.4's are also allowed to run with the 2.5's and green motors with 100lbs less overall dry weight

Maybe our chairman should chime in and share the group's thoughts/decisions so that we can continue to attract and grow this class

Mr Baker 243, I admire your desire and thoughts of growing this class but the way things have been done and will probably continue to be done the class will die. It reminds me of the kid that took his football and went home. It started in the beginning with the first set of rules with a boat length that automatically excluded famous Mod-VP hulls like LTVs, Vikings, Mirages and any other boat that was a REAL Mod-VP. They used safety as an excuse to keep them out. They used safety as an excuse to kick out pickle fork boats to.
The only way this class can grow is to start over with a new set of rules that were in place way back when Mod-VP was king. Do what you want with motors to keep the boats slowed down but don`t limit the class to just a select few hulls.
One question, Of the hulls running now how many can be purchased new and are available to new racers wanting to get started? I know Mirages and STV`s can be.Last edited by Da Bull; 03-04-2018 at 06:44 AM.

That’s exactly what I proposed... 17’ 9”. And baker343 was a supporter. Everybody else voted against it. At least the enduro rules have not been touch and are still the original 17’ 9”.

I`m not sure what you mean by this but I did race MOD-VP back in the day and would love to see it make a comeback just not under COR rules. I have also put on many races/events and know what a promoter is looking for. I would also like to put on a closed course race at Lake Buhlow and I know who I need to talk to in the city gov. There are plenty of guys with boats that would love to race but are not legal under COR rules. They are all to short. They do not have California boats. They want to run their Vikings, Mirages, LTVs and so on. Just like they did long ago.
