Yeah I feel ya on the scale. The ones they sell here the tare weight is 1 kg lol
2 years ago one of my workers found a 40kg white square grouper floating near my island. It was like he hit the lottery even at the three dollars a gram retail price locally (it’s a dollar fiddy a G in medellin) he was rich btch. Lol

No I’m not familiar with the 260 charging or ign system yet. What should I look for as far as inherent problems with this engine?
If the bores and pistons are in good shape should I still swap for the top pinned pistons or can my existing pistons be modified to be to pinned?Thx. Rm

I’m buying it for 4 million pesos which is about 1300 bucks u.s. which seems cheap enough. It’s missing the steering hardware tho

If you have the mechanical ability tear it all the way down and look over everything carefully. Nice 260s are getting tough to come by. The gaskets and seals required are cheap. At the minimum measure the bores, run a brush hone down it and re ring. Along with an injector service

i will take it to a machine shop to measure the cylinders with a bore gauge and I will mic the pistons myself. There is a good injector place in medellin they did the injector on my sumo. When you say brush hone are you talking about those dingle berry hones, as I have a set.
Where are you guys buying your merc parts online? Thanks so much for the info guys

what is to look out for on the 260 charging systems ? Thx again. Rm

The charging system is enough to run the motor and that is about all. excessive idling, stereo etc will draw down the battery.
