I am sure all the independent prop builders are aware of the situation.

Any of them could choose to offer Mercury some money for the tooling if they think it makes sense to buy it...

35-40 thousand for a prop mold and even some of the best prop shops only sell a handful of new choppers a year. complain all you want but when you put the money where the mouth is people just aren't buying 800-1000 dollar props. its the old 80/20 rule... if i were them i'd be pumping out trophy's max 5's maximus's all i can because that's where the market and the people are spending the money. This just benefits spinelli, BBlades, and others. I don't think this is a big deal.

Thanks for posting ModVP...that was a really good read! Anybody want to pool resources together and 100% completely dominate this market since nobody wants it? It seems to be there for the taking. I dreamed about opportunities like this in college when I fell asleep in class...

Then using a quality foundry, then the heat treat process and getting the metal to cool evenly as otherwise you'll be slinging blades all over the place...

I think the writer could have gone on further.

Well, CRT is starting to make blocks, plenty of prop makers out there, Geiger Teck and Tarver got some sweet mids, Dave Bush has the electronics figured out, just need someone to start making gear cases. I know I make that sound easier than it is-but the void can be filled.
