All these go pretty good but its the L/U, need to get a race or powerflow up high like the book says. At boat of 600 plus you and fuel you'll need push.

Love that video - Seen it a few times in the past few years.
SOOooooo yesterday, I got the darn thing running again on the hose. Threw on the stock compression head, and some new plugs to get her tuned in - Eliminating all variables. Not bad - weird how the top is a little low. Oh well.
Compression now is:
#1=138psi,
#2=148psi,
#3=148psi.
So I fire her up - Purrs like a kitten at about 700rpm. Hitting on all 3! Yay...
Mixture screws are baseline all at 1 turn out.
I start turning them 1/8 turn at a time and waiting... I get best results at #1= 3/4 turn out, #2=1 turn out, and #3=3/4 turn out.
Every once in a while, the motor would just come to a halt - and I'd restart with some difficulty, then she'll run on 2 cylinders again!!!! Grrrrr.... So just when I was getting things dialed in...
Now I notice if I pump the primer bulb and get it hard, in about 20 seconds, it's soft again. I think I have a leak somewhere between the primer bulb, and the carbs. Possibly the vent behind the square merc fuel pump... Not sure...
BUT I THINK I'M DONE AND RETIRING TILL SPRING TIME !!!! Sick of her quirks - and I want to get working on the tunnel hull.
Unless someone convinces me otherwise.... She's going under the cover till Spring!1) 1995 14' Bayliner Restoration <--Click

It doesn't have to stay firm when running. Every once in a while it loaded up at idle , too slow or leaned and sneezed? GET ON IT MAN, FIX IT , FINISH IT , RUN IT ! 138/148 , it will run better tuned with the other head. Put a few hrs on it. Get the garbage can out and a crap prop and the hose .

Bulb fine. Its just there to pump it to fill carbs, and when running fuel pump takes over and bulb will go back to normal. If it went flat, restriction upstream back to tank. But thats not the prob. My 125 barely stays running at 700, and more like 1100, and any lower stalls going into gear. Try cranking up the idle, and see if stays running. Quits, try it again and slowly keep some pressure on the bulb and see if stays running. That will tell ya if a downstream from bulb prob.
And like FMP said. Get the garbage can out and a crap prop and the hose. Honestly any adjustment should be made in the water, in gear and under load.
Don't quit yet as thinking it will drive ya nuts all winter. Get it running, do ZERO more until spring.

SHE RUNS !!! WOOOO
It was 70 degrees out today - And I had a frustrating day at work. What better way to feel better than buy a 6 pack of Bud Light, and head down to the dock to set the idle. She purrs between 750 and 780 rpm in gear.
The top carb was overflowing when I primed it - So I pulled her off, bent the tab on the float a slight bit thinking i'll get a little more needle seat pressure, and tapped the side of the carb with a wrench (has worked on my old motorcycle carbs).
Took her out on the bay - it was mirror smooth!!!!!! a nice little jaunt. Took her up to 4500 - 5000 rpm for a quick bit, and back down, varried throttle - - - So it's back to how it was. Cruises @ 30mph at 3200rpm... Who has a high pitch prop they wanna let me borrow ? :^D1) 1995 14' Bayliner Restoration <--Click
