Never heard of a 310lb 120Force? Must be the 25" Merc pig .Chrysler 4 cyl 20" leg with powerflow l/u is about 250 give or take p/t or not and that put you in at 105 to 140 hp. Since you have the merc mid a 95-99 120hp will bolt to your mid. So if you find a 120hp a complete swap, the lower for the taller gears and P/H should bolt up , the 4cyl cowl should also fit to the lower 3 cyl cowl unless mercs infinite wisdom with these has also changed that. Damm it find another triple block , your cowl looks too cool .

Yes, it's the 95-99 that weigh that much. Idk about which leg though. Just numbers I found through Google.
Soooo,,, I swear I break everything.
Change the water pump, they said.
It'll be fun, they said.
i broke everything.
Go to pull lower, and the Upper shift shaft seized to the hex sleeve. So vice grips and WD40 and the top finally "let's go". Nope, BAM busted that plastic piece up top. So to get it out, I need to lift the power head. Tried al other options. I go to take lower cowl off to get to powerhead bolts... BAM cover snaps in half. So take powerhead off, get upper shift shaft out, and try to free up the sleeve... BAM rod snaps with sleeve still stuck. Figure might as well change the thermostat too, BAM snap another seized bolt.
NOT WINNING. On a side note, I'm pretty quick at pulling powerheads now. I have it down to about twenty minutesLast edited by home made tunnel; 07-14-2016 at 06:12 AM.

$113 for a new vertical shift shaft, coupler, and gasket... and overnight shipping from CrowleyMarine.com.
The Horizontal shift shaft I can't find anywhere online. I'm going to have to cut out and weld up some tabs for that link---- Grrr more work.
The lower trim cover that I cracked in half I also can't find anywhere... I'll try plastic welding it together this afternoon. Haha I can't win, I swear. I just need to laugh at myself.

My buddy has a known good 115 Merc tower with tilt trim, attached to a rotten glasstron, and a galvanized trailer he wants 500 for.

Well - I found a mid 90's Force 75 that the guy says has 125-135 psi on all 3 cylinders, with a junked lower unit. Trim works, and wiring is all there.
So, an hour and a half drive each way, $280 for the whole gig, and I should have a stock powerhead to work with again - Just going to swap over my carb plate, electronics, reeds, etc... Should be good to go from there.
Still waiting on parts for my 50hp too. Who knows - Maybe I'll have the 90 back together before the 50 ! haha.

You will need to check if its a Merc leg and that the block will except the Chrysler style crank that I believe yours has (merc spline). The bearing part numbers are what you need to check. It could be a merc crank/ rod / block and then it might not except your internals. 95-96 was a mix year. Also check earlier 90/91-94 triples for blocks that will except the merc leg adapter and that have the correct ign . Later 95-96 and on ign changed a bit again and those usually have the merc rotaing assambly. DUDE

He thinks its a 95 or 96, but it has the Chrysler style lower.
Are the splines on the Chrysler / Merc legs different?
I was thinking the bolt pattern on the block would be the same - And I'd just bolt my merc leg adapter plate to this 75 block... Don't think that will work?
I was hoping to not have to pull this motor apart to swap cranks and all that jazz - - - There's a project in itself haha.

If its Chrysler lower the water pick ups are side of bullet down low ( you can jack it way up), crank splines are different or they should be (count yours but that year is an odd one with the old crank and merc lower). If its a Chrysler crank and it should be with the lower then your crank should work in that block . You need to check the ign he has and see if the top bearing cap is the same to except your T Bolt ign, it should be. The head should bolt but the ports may need work ,hehehehehe. So your option is to check adapter/ base plate most likely different and put all the rest of your good stuff(carbs ign head rods pistons) on/in it on the 75 crank.( not sure but stroke and bore should be the same as yours) The l/u should be 2.0:1 ( you could also use the 1.73 lower if you can find one) but props will be tougher to find because of the clearance to the ex snout ( not thru hub but those props work ).If you run a higher rake prop ( still 15 spline) it will hit the ex snout, you now need to use the smaller 50 hp snout from those years and cut the ex reliefs above the cav plate to help with back pressure or it won't top out and it will choke up. The tuner should be Chrysler and shorter and shaped to 7 " works. I know where one like this is , but it needs a piston , bad ring I think.
