    Just Purchased

What's going on guys! Happy to finally be able to start a thread about me getting one of these boats I've always liked since I was a kid! I just got a 1989 Concept 17 (splash off the action 16), completely original with a Johnson 140 VRO V4 with the VRO eliminated and in running condition for $2500. Came with an aluminum prop 14x19 and it ran 45. Guy said he had it set up for taking family skiing at a lake upstate 2 times a year. I got my hands on a 13 1/2x 22 SS prop now and haven't ran it yet but does anyone have any idea as to where I should be rpm wise and mph with this set up, or if any of you can point me in the right direction for a good all around prop. Not just something that's strictly top end but also for it to have a decent holeshot as well. I do most of my boating down in the keys so I'm sure I'll be seeing some of you out there especially this weekend at the tiki bar. Thank you guys ahead of time for any input!

Got it up to 56 mph. Stuck my arm in the bilge and found so wood just sitting there. So I'll be looking into that soon. Floor is a bit soft in the back near that opening. I would like to eventually uncap it but I might just dig in to that and see what I'm looking forward to haha

First, congrats on the new purchase very nice boat.
Second, keep the rpms around 5500, omcs love to blow up if you spin em too high. As far as that 200 for next year....definitely hang black on the back!

Thanks Bodhi! I've heard that a few times already about the omcs so I'm definitely trying to be cautious with that. And there is no question I'm hanging a merc off the back! Actually I want that same cowling you have so I need to find out want motors will take that alien cowling! Looks awesome!

Hey guys what's going on. Just a little update on the project. Been moving extremely slow but hopefully I can pick it up. I sold the old motor and purchased a 2.5 200 with a hole in the intake from a thrown rod it seems. But I won a raffle with The Outboard Paint Shop and they actually painted my motor so they can have it on display at the Miami boat show. Powerhead is on a pallet in the garage and just sitting there cause of time. A powerhead came up the other day for the same powerhead fully dressed and ready to go for a decent price so I bought that to use while I have the time to rebuild the other motor and maybe have it ready for next summer. I've also since seperated hull and deck and cut out old stringers and yanked out all the wood still left in the boat. Did a whole lot of grinding and put a new composite transom. It's been raining a bit lately down here but hopefully tomorrow I can give it a fresh sanding so I can the the rest of the boat laminated tomorrow. I'll post a few pics of what I've done and have so far.

If you get tired of looking at that 14/19 I may be interested!

Flex I have it sitting there so let me know. Thanks guys! It's the Lexus ISF blue (ultrasonic blue). I'm going to go with the whole boat silver and from the 2 strake in the front down in blue. Don't know where else to put blue on the top except for the name. Any ideas?
