BOAT ID - Small Tunnel Hull...

I don't think I'm going to open this particular can of worms even if its free - but I'm curious as to what it is...

    Anyone?

It's not a Dutchman. Deck is all wrong but the hull sure looks like a Dutchman.

Definitely a Speedliner. Designed by boat racer Bill Wiles and built in St. Joseph Mo. I have two of them. The red one since 1978. Have had the other one, a 1993 model with OMC 225 about three years now. There are a number of pics of it somewhere on this site taken several years before I bought it.
It would be an effort but that basket case could be brought back to life. These are fun boats that turn like they are on rails. Very flat wake for skiing. GPS says my newer boat was hitting 80 with 30" Cleaver prop and I didn't care to go any faster. For a vintage tunnel these boats perform pretty well.

*Ran across this old thread. That is a hull built by OMC driver Bill Wiles as described by others above. I bought a demo from him in Kansas City in 1972 with a Merc 1400. He called it a Super Sport Tunnel at that time. Ran about 62 mph. Great ski boat & I raced around midwest - mostly against tri hull Power Cats. It is now being restored in North Carolina & will probably be at the races in Tavares, Fl this fall.
