One other thing I took away from the broadcast interview was that all the people they talked to said how nice he and his friend were and that they never bothered anyone when they were running on the river. Nice to have someone noticed for being a class act for once.

We need a lot more of that instead of the way things typically go with the media.. I send my best to the family, tragic no doubt.. With that said, he enjoyed it up to his last minute and there are worse ways to leave this world.

I wish the best for those left to deal with the loss for sure..

Larry was a good guy. He must have lived near the launch at the Coon Rapids dam, because he would always catch me at the launch and BS about boats. Sometimes he would pull in as I was leaving. It always put a smile on my face as he pulled his boat with a Cadillac Eldorado type car (I dig unorthodox setups). I believe he and his son owned 3 different boats. All with 300x motors on them. One was a Daytona with twins. I can only speculate, but I would think his son was the driver of the other boat. Sad to see a Minnesota high performance boater pass. Prayers to the family as they deal with the loss.
