Judging by yesterday's thread (which was deleted), information about our fellow performance boater doesn't seem to be of much concern around here. If you really want to be "in the know" you should open a Facebook account

Sorry, wish I had more info because it always makes me sad when someone in our sport dies. I'm sure there are others somewhere who feel the same.Living in the Freedom provided by Bud Conner and his fellow warriors.

It's a sad thing that happened. He probably was doing what he loved to do just like most of us. We all think it will never happen to us. Truth is if we do it long enough it will bite us in the ass. Doesn't matter if you have an open cockpit or canapied cockpit, when the good Lord says its time to go then times up. May God bless his soul.

Think Adam had started a thread a couple of days ago about this. Must of got deleted do to every one speculating on what happened instead of showing concern for a life lost. May he rest in peace and may peace be with his family.

Such a shame they have to end the news broadcast with "there is not speed limit on federal waterways, yet"
You know the driver was doing what he loved, and my sympathies go to the family.

Authorities have identified a man who died following a boat accident on the Mississippi River in Champlin. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner says 72-year-old Lorne Jon Lindberg of Coon Rapids died of multiple blunt force injuries in a power boat mishap.According to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened just before 4 p.m. Thursday near Mississippi Point Park. They say witnesses had pulled the driver to shore and started CPR, but efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.May he rest in peace and I hope he had a smile on his face before things went bad. Pretty sure it was a Rapid Craft but have yet to find a good photo of the windshield where the name of the boat is.

Again I hope he had a blast on his last day on the water. We all hope to go out peacefully or doing what we love. I think this guy did. I hope his family can get over this and enjoy the water still.

One other thing I took away from the broadcast interview was that all the people they talked to said how nice he and his friend were and that they never bothered anyone when they were running on the river. Nice to have someone noticed for being a class act for once.

MTI was only 2600HP.....
I really doubt his trim stuck on that Rapid Craft. That Riot likes to run trimmed out, but windy and rough conditions are the perfect storm to blow over a small cat. I owned a Riot. Great boats.
