Ok, here it is. We started this off last season and had a blast. This will be the official kick off to the 2009 season.

The concept:

Get a group of fellow Hydrostream owners together and go boating on various bodies of water in and around Wisconsin. We are a unique breed of individuals that really love and appreciate the classic lines and feel of driving a Hydrostream.

The Rules:

Other than the Three Lakes Shootout, Power Tour stops will not be posted in advance on this thread. Persons wishing to participate must contact Laker or myself in advance. We will notify our list of participants of future planned stops in advance (suggestions welcomed). The reason for this is that we want to keep this a Hydrostream Only tour. We dont need any troll's showing up in other boats trying to prove something. The only exception to this rule is Sgt. Laker, who at the present time is serving our country. Sarge and the A-boat are always welcome as our honorary guest.

Our Goals:

- To meet new friends with common interests
- To fully establish the "Hydrostream Owners Group" as a network of individuals that share ideas about their classic Stream's and can get together and go boating
- To get Greg to come to one of our events for a classic Hydrostream Photo Shoot. Greg has a permenant invite
- Get Balzy out of retirement
- To share photos for the enjoyment of fellow distant enthusiasts unable to participate

Laker: A true, dyed in the wool, outboard junkie. A true man's man. This guy has outboards and outboard parts in every room of his house. The Garage is dedicated to working on outboards and other 2 and 4 stroke motors. The Family room is an organized storage room for outboard parts. The kitchen table usually is displaying a new outboard cowling or the spot to open new "special packages" form UPS.

http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn280/FlowMaxx/100_5380.jpg

The Boat: a Moonshadow flake 1980 Ventura which Chris completely customized. It features a new core, floor, custom race layout and an enclosed splashwell as well as some "top secret" pad and chine mods.

http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn280/FlowMaxx/100_4590.jpg

The Motor: Simply put, the baddest V4 I have ever seen. Influenced by 6Killer, Laker has custom built, massaged and assembed a V4 that is truely a force to be reckoned with. Without a doubt, the baddest V4 this side of the "Mason-Dixon Line." Any northern boy that wants to claim this title must take it away from Laker. Oh, and dont forget the Laker one-of-a-kind custom cowling.

The Man:

Schrammer: A true speed-aholic. Whatever the vehicle or craft may be, the quest and need for speed will never stop. Off the Water, Schrammer enjoys rifling thru the gears in his late model Z-51 Corvette as well as hunting down good looking females and consuming large amounts of Miller Lite (not wile driving of course :D)

http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn280/FlowMaxx/100_5856.jpg

The Boat: A Orange Metalflake '76 Vector that has been clear coated and completely redone with new core, floor, guages, shifter and new interior.

http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn280/FlowMaxx/100_5656.jpg

The Motor: Built and Assembled by Chadwick himself. One Bad Azz V6 Crossflow. With a smile this big, you know it's gotta be something good:

The Man: My Brother and Schrammer and my boat mentor. He took me for scary rides in the Vandal that our Father bought new in 1978. Schrammer sat on the end of his pier since he was in diapers watching and biting his nails. Bill is the Eldest and longest standing Hydrostream owner in the group. He has been flying Streams high since 1978.

http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn280/FlowMaxx/100_4960.jpg

The Boat: A Pristine example of an all original 1991 Vegas XT. This boat is garage kept and Flawless. The interior is as new.

http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn280/FlowMaxx/100_5532.jpg

The Motor: The lone "black motor" of the group. A carbed 2.5 200 just dying to be massaged or replaced with and ETEC :D All kidding aside, a great running motor.

The Man: Jeff is the Newest official member of the group. His passion about outboards has stemmed from early childhood when his Father worked for a local OMC dealer, Growing up, JJ heard the sounds of small putt putt outboard being tested and tuned in the custom ventilated test barrel in his Dad's Garage. The Long standing dream of owning a Classic Hydrostream has recently come true.

http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn280/FlowMaxx/100_6609.jpg

The Boat: A Very Nice all original '81 Ventura. JJ recently got this rig without power after what seemed to be an endless quest for a Classic 'Stream

http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn280/FlowMaxx/100_5518.jpg

The Motor: Crossflow V4 88 Special. This motor will soon receive special treatment including 135 heads and Big Bore carbs for the 2009 quest for 60 MPH. V6 next year :D

FlowMaxx - At 4 years old, My Father, after much influence from my older brothers, purchased a brand new Hydrostream Vandal from a Local Wisconsin Dealer. Most of my childhood was spent watching and dreaming about the lake and boating. Besides Hydrostreams, I collect antique outboards, I enjoy waterskiing and In the downtime Play a little Guitar and Bass (yet another thing I and the rest of the crew, besides Schrammer, have in common)

http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn280/FlowMaxx/100_6536.jpg

The Boats: The one that started it all. Years ago, after high school, and years of the three of us pounding the old 85, it needed some freshening. Since Bill had recently acquired his then dream boat, I purchased the boat from my Dad and Freshend up the old 85 Crossflow which after thousands of hours, is still running strong:

http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn280/FlowMaxx/100_5544.jpg

The Viking: Yes, this one is a Viking, not a V-king. Daredevil color scheme, this boat was previously owned by Big Willy for about ten years before I got it. It had a tired old 175 on it at the time which has since been freshened up and is now a Strong runner:D:D:D

Hey Guys,

I think it's cool that you get together and run on some of many lakes in Wisconsin. I happened to drag my Voyager Xt up there several years ago to spend the 4th of July with my wife's uncle. It rained most of the time and was cloudy the only day that we were able to get the hull wet.

We found a natural lake near Stoughton to play on. I have to say, that was absolutely the most nerve racking adventure I've ever been on. I'm used to high speed runs on a river. I'm either meeting a boat on the right, just like the highway, or I'm passing a slower boat. Either way I can expect what their doing and they can expect what I'm doning. One caveat, Jet skier's are like pecker gnats.... there always around and most of the time you can see them, but there's always one that manages to fly in you mouth!!!.

When I was on this lake, I could not really let her fly as there were boats zipping around, kinda toward me, kinda away from me , maybe they see me, maybe not. I don't think anyone was used to seeing the speed that I was traveling and how much time it takes me to slow down or turn. I was very careful not to put myself in a risky position, but I must admit, there was not much opportunity to really fly. Maybe I'm just stuck being a "River Rat".

No way. The Three Lakes event is for charity to benefit the great folks at the Three Lakes Fire Department. They love us up there and pretty much get free reign on the lakes (20 lakes with 106 miles of shoreline). There is a boat parade the evening before the race. We hope to have the hydrostream portion of the parade well represented. You guys in for sure?

Correct me if I'm wrong but is this a private gathering?
I'm allways looking for a huge Hydrostream gathering close by, something like the rumble but for stream owners but all the events like that are small groups and it wouldn't be worth the drive cuz I can just go to the cottage and run with 12-14 Streams on any given weekend.:smiletest:

Hey JJ think i may have found you a brand new 100GT/XP cover...

i know some of you guys know i'm building a 2.6, and while at work (a Evinrude dealership) i as lookin up engine covers and found that OMC/BRP have left over covers from back in the day and i found that they had 4 new 87' GT150 covers for 250$ so i grab one for my 2.6 project.

So for fun i looked up 100XP/GT covers for different years and it said they may have left overs, i will go to work to tomarrow and call them and see what they still have... do you perfer and Evinrude or Johnson? I will let you know what they got...

Anyway i hate to hijack this thread and turn it into a Hood thread, but when i look up these covers it doesnt come out and say the color or if its a XP/GT decaled... I looked up a 1990 100hp Johnson the model numder is J100STLESB the S in the number stands for special styling which means it is a GT cover but i'm not sure if its white or grey... Did they ever make a white GT100 motor in 1990?

it would make it as is... i bought the truck with the knock a year and a half ago with 103,000miles and it now has 114,000miles... we thought it was a stuck lifter so we put a set in last year and it didnt go away. So our new theory is one of the pistons has some play were the wrist pin goes thru it, once the it warms up it mostly goes away... it has 50+psi oil pressure idling so cant be a rod or something... i'll find out in a few weeks...

anyway the ol' ford will be at Three lakes with a vector hopefully with V6 power but if it dont get done in time i'll run the 110...

If ya go north on the lake off to your left theres a free "small" boat launch before ya get to the RR trussels at the mouth of the river.Alot of parking only one dock,But SSHHHHHHH!! its a secret:DNot too much free on that lake anymore:nonod:

Im not familiar with this area cause im from the Eagle River area...Unfortuately im a couple years behind you guys, so im running a little Checkmate Enticer, slightly overpowered with a 140 Johnnyrude, yes us Wisconsin Johnnyrude guys are everywhere.....Im making it as fast as possible but hey it can be the boat at the events this summer that has the all important Hot Girls in it.......Laker,Flowmaxx have helped me with ideas and since im from 3 Lakes originally (Highschool) me and a couple other boating buddys are runnin up there for sure, its 1 of the best bodies of water in the country.....18lakes on the 3 lakes side all in a chain, and then 10 on the Eagle River side, it makes a lake seem really boring, plus its very very low on Piggys, so "soda" and "other fun" is pretty much legal, unless you get caught.....For sure though we all need to meet up, I'll just be the slow guy on water, on land that may be different...Brannon 920-295-2069 ANYTIME

What this is really about is just a bunch of fellow Hydrostream owners going boating together. This is not an event like the Rumble or other similar events. Just a bunch of friends with similar interests checking out new lakes, meeting new people and having a good time. This is not an organized event, we will simply discuss when and where to go and everyone that wants to show up, will show up and hopefully good times will be had by all. This is not a race or anything of the sort. This is also why it is not a public thing. We want to limit it to just Hydrostreams. We will show up at The Three Lakes Shootout at the end of June and may show up to Koshkonong (if it happens this year). We just thought it would be cool and something different to get a bunch of streams together and have some fun whether it is 5 of 50. As long as participants are good respectful people, they will remain on the contact list. We have boated on just about every decent lake in southeastern Wisconsin. We are open to suggestions for stops within 250 miles of Milwaukee. This would make for reasonable drive distances for our friends in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Iowa and Minnesota. We do have some friends from upstate New York that are coming to the shootout. So far, we have several people who are interested :)

To add to Flow Maximums mission statement.
If we get a ground swell of interest that is going to show up at the 3 lakes shootout, or Kosh (If it happens) we may do something special. Example… Longest tow award, Fastest Hydrostrem award… ect….
Otherwise we are about meeting at a suitable lake and having a great time. Nothing more and nothing less.

hey Flowmaxx what makes that your favorite hull? Would my XFlow 140 work good on a Vandal? Seriously keep your eyes and ears open for me....also I Im"d you about decal opinions on my motor....I went into Liquidnirvanas web pics and looked thru all of the 2nd effort stuff, did OMC ever make a RS V4 or something.....I like the RS decals, also, I noticed every race motor had the out of water exhaust, even Lakers, besides noise does it add some low end like a car or bike? I cant wait to Chit Chat with you 2 at the Show,Im warning you I can be a Little Hyper, but im sure you never noticed.......I had your # but not sure where it went, I wanted to talk to you about your Bro.....

Andrew that thing is HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I see that it has a touch of LIFT?? theirs literally no hull in the damn water, did you simply trim her out at like 50 or 60? Is your center steer a option or? See since Im a single dad their has to be room for stuff, young 20 yr old college girls,my 9yr old and a buddy, and typically a cooler ......I know you guys are all more performance only boaters but I want a boat that does it all good....If my little 'mate was faster Id be happy, my son didnt like me bunny hopping the wakes much, those checkmates may be slow but they ride smooth as hell.....Anyways bounce my statement off of the boss man and keep your eyes open for me, Sincerely

Just the hoods. There were some pretty cool factory race hoods for the V6 crossflow. I would love to find an original, but doubt if there are any good ones out there to be found. I switched the striping on the CCC to be correct. The RS is an old 150 cowl which I added louvers to. Needs a little more work though. I have a Cowling addiction :D Stay tuned.
