so the movie is being stupid i tryed up loading it to my online account threw magix, magix is the program i use to make the movie... but doesnt hav a link that i can find to beable to post it on the form! ill try and figure it out if not im going to try and up load it to photobucket and you guys will have it later tonight around 10 1030 or breakfest in the morning! ill keep you posted

Thanks on the compliment. There was some damage on the edge of an outside sponson that was repaired but needs to be done right (I promise I won't touch it). :D Hopefully that is all it is but all sponsons filled up both weekends but there was enough water where it probably when in the left sponson and got hig enough to go into the others when cornering, etc.

Will look at this fall and a couple of the guys at the gathering have a shop and do boat work (the have a thread in the fiberglass forum - restoring Hydrostream Core). It should be good as new next year.

Jeff it would have been nice to meet you, I know we talked some band stuff years ago and then I kind of signed off SNF (too busy with life). :eek:

Tim had a lot of nice things to say about you (I'm not kidding he really was impressed). I told him I had some on-line encounters with you but had never met you. Maybe next year if you make the Kosh thing. I am going to try and rearrange my camping trip so I can make the Three Lakes Shootout too so maybe there as well.

Three Lakes is well worth it. Kosh seemed (to me) to be too weather dependent for it's success given the lake is so big and shallow. It matters not, I'll be hitting both next year. :cheers:

If you have a somewhat newer PC you already have a program. It's called Windows Movie Maker. It's something to fool around with until you get something better.

still have it havent used it in a while negitives on it bat life isnt the best i can take up to about 2 hrs at the best quality then have to charge it you could charge it in your car if you have a power inverter or converter whatever it is....

I checked the ordinances for the Town of Waterford and the 50 mph speed limit is in there. I don't know if there is a requirement that it be posted or if this is one of those deals where ignorance of the law is no excuse. :reddevil:

Yeah he indicated that he got our information while lasering us on the lake but only the people that where at the launch are getting tickets. I don't believe him for a minute, they were taking either license plates or boat reg. numbers at the launch. This means that they couldn't properly identify boats in the water and were guessing when they got people at the launch.

Anyone who went out in a fast looking boat that day and came back when they were at the launch would no doubt be included. :icon_bs:

How i see it is.
There is this lake i went boating on. Never once truely was i told about any speed on the water.Ive never seen any signs nor any postings.
This was my 3rd weekend runing this lake and yes hualing rump...Ok 50mph or less...

Then This.

I asked the cop..If i was speeding id like to see it locked in on his radar,Or laser.

And last did he not say it was his first time ever useing a laser and well he did not have a clue how to use it!

This is fact. look up wi.state boating laws. If a locol city wants to create and enforce water restriction. ie. no wake, no skiing,speed limit, or shoreline protection area. They have to 1.) post it with a sign at the public launch.(it's there), and no. 2.) clearly mark these area's with bouy's.

No bouy's, no restrcitions. this goes for every lake in wi. I've been told ,but NOT confirmed, Waterford water restriction are in effect from April 1st thru Oct. 1st. If that is true then buoy's or not all bets are off.

What it boils down too is they didn't get the ones they wanted so they decided to try to shove some **** down our throats.

Sean do you have a link to where it indicates that they must post speed limit and are you sure it isn't posted. I cannot say that it wasn't there but if we fight this and there is a sign right at the launch saying 50mph we're screwed. From the research I have done it is a town of Waterford ordinance but if it has to be posted and they didn't then I say it is :icon_bs: that they can issue a ticket.

From what I have been told speed limits on waterways are up to local jurisdictions which really bites. Not only because they can decide to legislate away our ability to go fast but because waterways can easily be in multiple townships. It does say in Wisconsin boating literature that you are responsible for being aware of local ordinances. I would argue that they are responsible to post such information rather than requiring every boater to go on-line and search for their ordinances (but this is likely what I'll do in the future to be sure I am safe from speeding violations on the water).

If you guys want to fight it I may be able to take a day off work to attend (I'll have to see) but it will probably be a crap shoot unless the law indicates that posting is mandatory.

I also did a little research on the laser gun (don't know his specific brand) and one of the hitches with them is they send at least two light reflections to calculate speed. If the cop twiches at all speed can easily be affected since the light would be focusing on two different parts of the moving object. If it first sent back the light pulse from the back of your boat and the second pulse was from the front of your boat that could be an increase of 16 to 20 feet depending on the size of the hull and when calculating speed based on elapsed time between distances in that nano second even a few feet can throw the measurement off quite a bit. This arguement might not work if he was shooting directy behind us.

I'm gonna just send them the money. Unfortunately if it is posted our only case is his word against ours and in the local court I don't think guys with fast looking boats (much less fast boats) are going to stand a chance.

This first date isn't even a trial date it is a first appearance at which you can enter a plea and then a trial is set (unless they drop the charges). I didn't see the sign but Tommy said it was posted so I believe him and that kind of seals our fate. :(

It isn't Sean fault or anyone else's for that matter. I don't like the way the boating laws in this state are setup and if I had extra time I would like to go to court just to tell them how I feel and why.

There is no state speed limit for boats (other than a vague statement that no dangerous operation under which they could probably try and site someone if they wanted to). However, they do give and other municipal government the right to set rules. The problem with that is how is one to know if there are speed limits on a lake. Even if you find out many lakes and all rivers cross many different jurisidictions. So if you are on the Wolf river for example you would have to worry about ordinances from several dozen townships and would also have to know where the boundry starts and ends. Likelihood of conforming to the law....zero.

If any of you choose to fight it I wish you well and will support you in any way I can but it isn't worth my time to drive over there a couple of times just to get beat down by the man. :p

We should start compiling a list of lakes that are friendly to our presence and keep the tour going on those lakes and we should advertise our presence (while behalving ourselves of course) to show the businesses around those bodies of water that putting speed limits on their lake would be a mistake.

I wish you guys the best of luck. As I said, I did a little research and if they giggle that laser just a little but it will bounce the laser light off of two different areas of the boat. The cop may say this is bs but there have been cases where parked cars have been clocked at 60 mph.

The reason this happens is the speed is calculated as the distance traveled over an elapsed period of time (and the period of time is very short nano seconds or milli seconds - not sure) so if that light beam gets focused on a different region of a vehicle (even a foot or two) it doesn't take much to throw it off.

I would think the fact that he was aiming this thing at us from across a lake would also help your case. He even indicated to us that we were disappearing off his radar (so to speak) as he was shooting us. I think I will write a letter to the Town of Waterford as I really didn't appreciate the tone of the letter I received basically accusing me of drunk driving and other various infractions that they indicated they wouldn't put up with.

It almost makes me want to visit lake Tishigan on a semi regular basis to be sort of a pain in their arse while remaining legal in all respects. ;)

Yes, my old one and I miss it dearly ! The windshield was a factory one that I cut down "way down" and kept the bottom frame and eliminated the top frame. The windshield was exactly like the vking except no bends in the plexiglass and it was much higher. I think Pipkorn put them on a few to appeal to the waterskier.
Mine also came from the factory with the fuel cell located up front. I've only seen one other like that. Transomstand, who's Ventura is identicle to the one I had never had a windshield and never had his cell up front from the factory.

Thanks for the compliments on the viper flomax. I am thinking about selling the viper during the off season . I really would like to get anouther v-king since brian got my old one. Oh I'm just hanging out doing the school thing in Milwaukee still. Winter break is coming up real soon so I'll have to catch up with you guys. Missing the boat already, but I need some down time to get ready for spring:D
