That is a position you don't often see, must have been a nice zoom lens on the sucker or a brave soul (or perhaps suicidal). :D

Guys - don't forget about the original Hydrostream owners group:

http://forums.screamandfly.com/forums/group.php?groupid=21

I plan to add some additional pictures over the next few weeks and have some very special surprises that will be unveiled over the next weeks and months to help winter go by, so stay tuned

In case anyone forgot about the rules, The Hydrostream Owners Group is an invite only group. The rules are fairly simple and go as follows: The preference is to meet you in person and get to know you and see that you have the same objective as us. We are about friends, fun and Hydrostreams. it doesn't matter if you have a brand new Venom with a 300 on it or a $100 basket case. We all have the same thing in common, that is we love our 'Streams. We are not about who is the fastest or who has the biggest ego. We are about getting together and having a good time. I think by now after over 2700 replies to this thread, most have a good feel for the group. We do not post our get togethers in advance, rather we alert or group that we are getting together and take pictures and videos for everyones enjoyment. Not everyone in the group has met in person. Some have helped over the phone or via email by giving good advice on a technical problem, or helped the group in some other way. Also there are some that just have been such a huge positive contibuter to this great website we all enjoy. We encourage anyone that wants to get involved to get in touch with one of us. We primarily boat in Wisconsin, but down the road may expand if there is enough interest. Happy boating all!!!

Looks like I will be runing my kids viking till I come across the one I want . Thanks for all the good reviews . The main thing is we got another good person who loves boating in a HYDROSTREAM.

I posted the picture of Howard in his Allison.
I went to the race in Crosby Mn. It's only 18 miles from me.
I even took my Vixen to have Howard sign the dash.
after meeting and talking to him I changed my mine and went home without him signing it. I will say that howard has owned the Allison for around 40 years.

He may have not altogether fond memories, considering how it ended.
Because of market conditions, etc., etc., it either folded or he threw in the towel. Was his baby for 20+ years. Maybe it left a bad taste in his mouth.
Maybe especially as he sees the name go on in production today, and he's not a part of it.

He says that it dose 90 now with the mota that's on it but he didn't have much to say about how fast his boat was when the power tour stoped by?? Thought that it was kinda funny my self. Not trying to rip on the guy, he is my friend but sometimes we all need a reality check.:smiletest: Boat was re-gel-ed two sessions ago. Looks real nice now.

FlowMaxx
11-23-2009, 10:03 PM
Wow Adam, good yo see you on here again. He sure has a nice rig, but 90... NO Way. I bet my 85 horse V4 would give him a run :D That rig needs a 3 litre Looper or a strong 2.5 to up some big ##'s If that boat was mine, I would have Laker build me a V8 version of his motor and go 110. Hell I might even have to stuff Schramer up in the cuddy to keep the nose down

BTW.... Check your emails y'all

Jason Huber used to have a Venus with a 260 or 280 that was very fast. We called it the big red MEMBER with the stabbin cabin. I think he sold it to BOS in Canada. It was set up by none other than Randy Pierson

I know OMC said 450 but they were heaver than that when actually weighted with a scale... Some where there is a B&WB magazine at my house where JTjr did actual weights of motors with calibrated equipment and found what the manufactures were a little optimistic on the weights they published.

I weighed my Looper 4 at Bakers in 2003 with the same scale they weighed the boats with and it was 417lbs...

instigators weighed 410 with a heavy taylor mid/sporty no cowl. his frankenrude I on his 500lb vector ran like it was on rails and it would have to be one MEAN crossflow to stick with a mod looper on a light vector. Figuring 50hp a cyl doesnt urs make more then a 235 at the prop? :D

There is NO better place to boat in this state than 3 lakes. There are 15,000 lakes here in Wisconsin :D. Three lakes is a chain of around 20 plus lakes. If that isn't enough there are 9 more over a boat hoist to the Eagle River chain. Each lake is between 200 and 1000 acres making them perfect for what we do. There are some rocky areas, but they are marked and a map can be provided as well as a "follow along when you guys get there  and looking forward to it.

They Do look heaver, more bulky.. But those side plates are very light, almost hollow. If a fast track is heaver its only by a little.

Yeah I got my mail Saturday with a check from Town of Waterford. I wonder if it was they realized they were wrong or they didn't want to go through the expense of a trial for a couple of silly tickets.

Either way a big thank you to the couple of guys that went to fight it as I think that is what swayed them and I owe you a beer next time I see you. When I return to Tichigan it will be with my modified bladder boat to sink the entire town (of course with the exception of Sean and Bob Albee's houses). :D

Hey Flowmaxx, actually the Eagle River/Three Lakes Chain O Lakes is 28 lakes in total, 10 in Eagle River/Vilas County 18 in 3 Puddles....The 3 Lakes side is nicer because of less wake areas, less cops, but Less Girls, Less partying, so it depends on what were doing, This year im doing both, I think the Lift is still in operation to go from 3lakes to ER? As far as I know they only made this one paper thin vector for Drag racing only.. This is not an oval course or play boat.. Drag Racing only.
Changes to the pad were perhaps to get the hull up and clean off better or perhaps better handling once up on the pad and charging. I could not tell you what was going threw Howard's mind..... And our BEST setup and Tune so far is maybe 60% of this rigs Maximum potential. Getting it into the 90% range wont be too hard. Just alot of Grunt WORK and some $$$ On shrammers part. The last 10%... like the rest of our boats will require serious effort and time... Only then will we know if that bottom makes any difference at all...

I would imagine the Varmint comp is extremely rare. It may be the only one in existence. There are stream deals on here every day, just keep your eyes open. We'd love to have you on the tour but remember, stream only. I thinlk we'd look the other way if it's a stream splash though.

I will not be a part of this any longer unless there is 100% concensus that there will be zero tolerance for drinking and driving the boats. We have started a great thing here and I hope to continue to help improve it, but if we cannot have unity on no drinking and driving you guys will have to carry on without my wife and I :(

I think we're all adults and can handle that. Performance boating and boozing at the same time doesn't really go hand in hand. I'm sure we can all hold off on the barley pops until the end of the day, or just do it while riding along instead of operating.

Looks like we have a few things to iron out prior to making any announcements about 2010. I will not be a part of this any longer unless there is 100% concensus that there will be zero tolerance for drinking and driving the boats. We have started a great thing here and I hope to continue to help improve it, but if we cannot have unity on no drinking and driving you guys will have to carry on without my wife and I :(

I'd like to say a thanks for coming and thanks to everyone that has been a part of this. Also, a special thanks to Sean and Becky for helping at some of our outings and helping with the pictures.

Hey all! Sorry I missed Sat nite but we had our niece and nephew for the weekend. Also I agree that drinking and boating don't mix. I had the best times last summer sober. I feel we can be responsible for an afternoon and if anyone wants to let it rip afterwards that's on them. But on the water we can't take chances especially with the way our luck was with the cops near the end of the year. Don't need anyone getting hurt or pinched. Just my opinion. Later.....

Thanks JJ, That is how it is going to have to be, or we won't be doing it anymore simple as that. There are a few other things that need to be discussed the next time we all get together.

Rich, We would love to have you in the group, but you gotta get a stream..... You know you want one... Give me a call though, would love to hang out sometime and shoot the breeze......

Congratulations on your new boat look forward to seeing pictures next summer and hearing how it works out for you. To me it seems like a dream come true for Hydrostream fans, a classic boat built with modern materials and processes.

Andrew, there is a factory sale on Venom's until December 31, 2009. If you were ever to get one that might be the best option for you. If you haven't sold your motor that is. If you do I know Brian from Janesville was looking to up the power on his Vking.

I hope there is a power tour this summer and I hope I have my boat straightened out by then too.:eek:

Hey, at least you live in Wisconsin where a black boat is possible. Believe me I know from experience. One thing is for sure though you would be easy to find on the lake. That can be a good thing or a bad thing. Couldn't really argue I wasn't one of the boats on Lake Tichigan, but then again when I tell friends to look for the black HST when river camping they usually don't get me confused with someone else. :D

Get your self that Venom and put your 2.5 on it and fly like the wind.
