240 sport jet info?
Looking at a boat that has a 240 sport jet owner says compression is 70# on all six?
I really have not seen something like that? Not all cylinders. Wondering if his gage is bad? Any thoughts?

Yes, I would bet he's using a cheap car guage... not OK for small engines or most 2-strokes.

I’ve never seen one that you can’t thread a schrader into. It’s removable for different tests

I would definitely buy it. I have bought several motors that supposedly had low compression. But when I test them they are good. The gauge is very important.

Keep in mind, should you ever need to rebuild, the crankshaft on a Sport Jet has a different spline than a normal O/B, and it can be extremely hard to source a replacement.

I converted a 240 sportjet into outboard, I say buy it no matter what compression is , but like stated already , for u to put on outboard, will need a different crank

I wasn't even aware they kept building those into the opti years! 200hp available!

I've worked on a 250 Opti in an aluminum flat bottom with console.

Couldn't you have a 25" driveshaft cut down & resplined to fit the SportJet crank?
